    Old World Blues speculation

Ulysses is inspired by the Good Shepard and a character named Cowboy. His flag pole is not a weapon per se, but his shepard's staff; he wears his flag on his duster. He's got a Rastafarian vibe, but that could be aesthetic - something to draw our attention, to set him apart as oddball. I'll...

    The battle between the couriers.

No. I never said Courier 6 and Uly need AI dementia, to be interesting. They're rivals, and he wants to kill you? Really? The question is why. So, no. Without a reason for his second coming, rivalry doesn't make a lot more sense. (There's rivalry in the split mind of ODYSSEUS, too. Just...

    The battle between the couriers.

Is that supposed to be patronizing? You're cooing like a damn infant, grow up. ODYSSEUS had dual personalities, and a cult of robots tried to enslave it. The AI was not a weapons platform, but it was capable of wielding them. Mankind had simultaneously created and enslaved God. Given the...

    The battle between the couriers.

I hope it is, nancy... Ok, right. I wouldn't like it, either. He's got the whole Rasta Jesus going for him.

    The battle between the couriers.

Here's an idle thought: Courier 6 and Ulysses are humans, once asleep in cryostasis, until ODYSSEUS' halves hijacked them. Where Ulysses' half is self-aware, Courier 6 is incapable of realizing s/he's carrying the AI, because memory that can compromise it is irretrievable. The half within the...

    Isn't FEV a bit dumb?

The effects in ghouls should be varied, is what I'm saying. The fate of a ghoul shouldn't be uniform. Make them anomalous, as if populations cope with radiation differently.

    Isn't FEV a bit dumb?

The game is called Fallout, surely the universe should have a greater emphasis on the effects of its namesake... In my opinion, radiation should unbind them from physical laws, to a higher degree than we've seen, not "eat their brain," as seems to be the current trend.

    US slams 'criminals' behind WikiLeaks

I'll never understand why a man wants to fan the fire between his ears with knowledge that can't save him. Ignorance is wisdom.

    "Bethesda presents...Oblivion 2"?

I had no idea the Thief writer was behind Oblivion... Thief's more or less stayed true to its origins. Deadly Shadows was less steam-punk. @Faceless_Stranger - I mean, the concept of a mount doesn't even appear, in Tekumel. Teams of slaves take the burden, instead. It's cool.

Commendable. I was being facetious, in my last post.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Fallout. I want to play Planescape: Torment, very much. My part-time job doesn't keep me busy enough, and waiting for my rotation in the Caterpillar factory to begin leaves me with time to finally play these relics. Yay!

    "Bethesda presents...Oblivion 2"?

As producer, Todd is mostly accountable, true. Has it occurred to him, in some fantasy worlds, mounts don't exist?

Newcomer, a commodore 64 RPG to be released in 2010

Very cool. I hope it's worth the effort.

    Isn't FEV a bit dumb?

Really, with so much contamination, you'd think everyone would be ghoul-ified. So, I agree. I think it's exposure to the primary radiation, not the fallout that everyone's exposed to.

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

I usually don't talk about what - if any - guns I own, but because I'm mostly anonymous; among a few as unusual - my Colt 1911 is my favorite - is my Sharps .50-90. I like revolvers more than pistols, as far as protection and range-firing goes. Any one else agree?
