Yup I'm using service pack 2 and home for xp.

I just tried disabling the video card and restarting my computer, then running the game with no background stuff running but the same thing happened. I just find it weird since I don't think it could be the video card but other people with windows XP have gotten it to run fine.

I went to War of the Worlds tonight and I thought it was great! It had awesome special effects of course, and I thought the mix of comedy,drama, and action was well put. Either way, its a must see for all sci-fi fans :).

Ugh..I downloaded that and tried it on both 8 bpp and 16 bpp with multiple refresh rates and no change. I think it has something to do with the video card as well as some people have no problem with running Fallout on their computer, Fallout 2 runs fine on my computer however.

I guess the setting is a big deal to me. As long as it has a good plot and theme to it, we'll be able to see cities when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. comes out tho..in Janurary ugh..unless they push it back again..
