...a friend just pointed out to me that the page that that one sticky thread links to says setup.exe not install.exe I just did a windows install and it works fine, sorry for the trouble I read the darn thing but didn't read it well enough apparently. Sorry for wasting your time. My bad.

Alright. I installed from the disk, using the compatibility wizard(in accessories). It boots up in msdos prompt. I installed the biggest size. I have the latest Direct X. Aside from that need any other info? Everything cuts to msdos prompt though. and the Sound config thing never auto picks up...
