Yeah, I don't care much for it myself. Bloody Mess was an option in Fallout 1 & 2. While it was good for a laugh initially, I just tired of it after a while. Most of the other death animations were way more satisfying visually as well as aurally.
I wonder where I can still buy ToEE or if. Wasn't there something about massive fan patches for that game as well, or am I thinking of something else (might be confusing that Vampire game with it)?

I thought they added the Gauss guns as Small Arms to fill the gap between the more powerful Energy weapons. I found it a problem in Fallout 1, but it was easier to raise more skills. Fallout 2 was much better...

I must have been enjoying Fallout 2 so much I was oblivious to any such hullabaloo (OMG, was I a Black Isle/Fallout fanboi like the Oblivion/Bethesda crowd?!). I honestly only became aware of it years later, which makes me feel so awkward and junk. :|
