Have you tried unselecting the main quest in your pip boy?

I think that the "murdering" thing is supposed to be seen more like, "I killed them in self defense," or, "I killed them to rescue those poor captives." Also, depending on how you look at it, killing someone is far more kind than dooming them to a life of slavery.

That brings up memories of the revolver modification you could do in Bioshock, which converted the revolver into a belt-fed pistol. Upped the ammo capacity from 6 to 24, or something, but mostly just looked crazy awesome. Edit: For those interested, pics here...

I'd really like to see a no-pause when you pull up the pip-boy mod. That way if you want to change armor or stim yourself up, you actually have to find a safe place to do so, or risk being shot to crap.

For a potential "fix" for the fatman, maybe instead of editing it out completely, the ammo could produce a constant radiation effect on you while carrying/near it. That way you could allow it to still exist, but unless you REALLY feel like you need it (ie. behemoths, armies of mutants, etc)...
