Well, thus far it seems better than Anchorage. Except for one key thing. I get told I need to wear "Slave clothes" to get inside, since apparently slaves have branded clothing and will wander up to heavily fortified raider camps saying "Sup I'm a slave what's happening here".
I decide not to...
FOOK nothing, this is probably the most impressive mod I've seen thus far. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3388
Haven't used it yet since I'm trying the XFO rebalance mod and I figure it might not play nice with others, but it looks quite good. Hopefully in a year or so...
GTA4 was game of the year for me, though on 360. Did hear the PC port was pretty terrible.
That said, I only played 3 2008 games. GTA4, Fallout 3, and C&C3 Kane's Wrath. Pretty much everything else I was interested in I didn't buy due to DRM.
I just had the best bug ever. I beat the game, the final cutscene started, and... There was no sound. Just like Fallout 1 and 2 for me.
Haven't tried disabling hardware sound to see if the same fix fixes it or not though.
He's been more fair than I expected him to be, actually. Agree with most everything he said, but I think I'm enjoying it more than him due to nebulous and subjective fun. Plus he seems to be plugging at the main quest more, while I'm something like 25 hours into the game and only now finishing...
In the game's defense, that character is supposed to be kind of dumb/ditsy/scatterbrained/not the brightest apple in the drawer. Still plenty of other clunky bits though.
Hmmm. Don't think that happens to everyone, since I haven't heard it much apart from me and you. Maybe that's what part of their random encounter thing is. In certain key areas there's a chance to spawn a particular encounter?
If you turn the radio off you'll get the ambient music, which isn't too bad. And under the audio options there are settings to turn up the volume on music and the radio. Radio defaults to only 40% or something, IIRC.
Kind of agree with you. Picked it up today on release since there wasn't much else coming out I was interested in, and I've been having a damn good time with it. It loses a lot of Fallout feel, but... Damned if it doesn't feel like a fun post-apocalyptic RPG anyway. Most of the Fallout...
Pretty sure it's (Somewhat) chance. I went to Super Duper Mart at something like level 3 only a couple hours into the game, and found a deathclaw which had killed 4 wastelanders and 2 raiders (Quite spectacularly, I'll add. Gibs everywhere), and only had maybe 5-10% of its health left...
Heh. I've still got my manuals floating around, and I'm pretty sure I still have my FO1 and 2 big boxes stuffed in a closet. Might have to see if I can scrounge them up and hawk 'em on Ebay, then buy 'em off GoG for myself.
I enjoy having physical copies of games, but hell. That's a pretty...
Except he also really liked Oblivion and Hellgate London, and said something along the lines of NWN2 having the best story since PS:T. I've lost a bit of faith in his reviews, but at least he's a known quantity so I have a better idea of how to gauge the review when it comes.
Kind of agree with you. Halo 3 multiplayer didn't seem disproportionately stupider than any other multiplayer I've done, but then again I only played a little bit. While I don't mind controllers at all for singleplayer gaming, it irritates the hell out of me when I'm in multiplayer and...
