Don't take offense dude...
Fallout 2 and 1 were -descriptive- with long lines of dialogue. Not only would you need incredible amounts of voice acting done, but the entire talk system would need a whole new interface to accomodate said amount of text. It's just not going to happen unless you...
LOL... you do realize the texts would never fit on the dialogue screens ... right? There'd be serious interface-modding and the entire engine would haveto be reworked to use the original SPECIAL
This post just made me realize that I have to revoke my previous statement... they didn't get rid of the ever so annoying fish-eye perspective... Most of the time it's unnoticable, and whilst playing I didn't notice it, but some of these screens have the perspective so off that it's just...
No offense... but that goes about the same length as the chairs and their choppy angling... that is not content... that is art at most... In other words, that's not worth mentioning...
Let me guess... the rather choppily angled copies of the vault interior chair models right?... Cause that's abotu all the similarity I know of... only it looked like that in VB cause it wasn't finished... and the engine was in earlier times to put it lightly... where as Beth... ehh... what's the...
I'm going to be a really lazy camper here and not read through all of this, I'll just respond to the topic starter... here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46773
In all honesty my opinion has changed since I wrote that, as I attempted to play it again, since I simply stopped...
No offense dude but with that attitude?... GTFO...
Fallout never was about twitch-gaming and it shouldn't be now. Stop complaining about VATS, as that is one of the very few redeeming qualities of this game alltogether. It's the only time that remotely resembles skill-use from the original...
Sir, you fail...
If there actually -was- any culture in this game instead of being a hollow skeleton-world devoid of any factual information, bar the few terminals that actually have interesting data fragments, then -maybe- your statement could be true.
If you managed to have the doctors proclaim you cured through the dialogue of a dumbass that would never even remotely be convincing would that make a good game to you? The main problem is not with the battle system but with the RPG part being shallow and badly written, and the world being...
The best aspect of Fallout 1 and 2 were the character development and the depth of the world. Neither of which Bethesda captured. I admit there are good parts. I really liked Vault 106 and 112, but there it ends. Oh and Liberty Prime... gods that was hillarious... RED IS BAD! :D
IThe character...
For christs sake the main plot has nuke-crater sized holes through it... how is that a damn fine job?...
I admit I enjoyed playing it once, but I've been trying to literally force myself to even exit megaton with my second char... it has a replay value of near 0.
It's not a bad game, but...
Well to be honest I had no issue finidng caps. Always had at least 2k. And if there's a specific weapon you need repaired that you can't find other instances of, you can have all the repair skill you want, you'll still be screwed. Hence I used the merchants mostly.
As for help with looting...
You really should read through the thread more. Yes what you say is true, but you can only repair something yourself if you sacrifice other instances of the same weapon. Otherwise you'll be using a merchant's repair services. And to be honest I found it easier to use a merchant. You can repair...
