Book of Eli PA movie trailer

No, no, no. It's going to be: It was all a retarded kid playing with a snow globe.

    Bethesda to buy another IP?

Planescape, along with all the other old TSR settings, were bought out by Wizards of the Coast over a decade ago. The Planescape setting was folded into the (rather thin) 3.5 D&D book "Guide to the Planes," and in 4th edition, is gone entirely (so far.) There is no more Planescape, and even...

Fallout 3 GotY: WGA loss, GDCA and BAFTA nominations

Fallout 3 losing in what is essentially a rigged contest? There has to be some sort of god out there, because this is entirely too poignant otherwise. Seriously, this news post made me laugh.

    WGA awards snubbed

There is only oneWriter's Guild of America, and it is severely dictatorial. Kind of strange, if you think about it: It's basically a monopoly (for movies and TV, anyway) which started because Thomas Edison was trying to get a monopoly over "his" moving picture camera and the companies that were...

    Bethesda to buy another IP?

And the new parent company, CCP, has been working on an MMO based in that game world for almost three years now. So, no. And if it turns out that they're going to buy Arcanum: I will curse as I've never cursed before.

Fallout 3 is some kind of art

I meant "One hit wonder", when it comes to Danielwski's quality after House of Leaves, and that Coppola got lucky with "The Godfather" - and, in a similar way, Danielewski got lucky with House of Leaves. So it was sort of a mangled attempt at saying two and a half things at once.

Fallout 3 is some kind of art

*Whew* That's good to know. I was really worried for a while there. It would be good if they actually got someone who *knew* video games to talk about them, though. ZINGER!! I actually liked House of Leaves, a lot, but HoL is Danielwski's version of Coppola's "Godfather": He got lucky...

Fallout 3 is some kind of art

Shame on NPR for trying to bring this, at best, mediocre and derivative game to the height of art for the ages. I thought they'd know better. Suppose their quality's been dropping for years and I never noticed.

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

But that's not really an issue with FPP, that's an issue with RT; specifically, RT combat. That's really the reason for TB to begin with: To divorce your character's skills from your personal skills. At least when it comes to pointing and attacking, reflexes and all that.

Van Buren in IGN's top cancelled games

Ah. I see. Never knew that. I did know about the WC3/WCA connection, though. I also know that those connections, as well as the massive changes in gameplay, pissed off a lot of old WC fans. I liked the game, personally, but it did seem to lose quite a bit of that "Warcraft flavor". It...

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

Games for Windows is basically Live for PCs which run Vista. Everyone's forced to have it. For, y'know, registration and adware and malware and what have ya.... So, yea, they're gonna charge for it. That's been out there for months.

Van Buren in IGN's top cancelled games

Yup. Good ol' Herve, huh? Really looking out for the fans. What a guy..... I will repeat my earlier point: SC: Ghost SUCKED. It really did. By way of comparison, that was the same E3 where I played a demo of Hellgate: London... and I was blown away by that (though it may have been...

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

I see your point. I was just trying to be a bit more inclusive, I suppose.

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

I was hoping someone would bring that up. I LOVED Wizardry 8. Still haven't played the first seven, but I've got them on disk... If I can get my hands on a PC that isn't infected with malware... er... doesn't have Vista on it... I'd probably be playing them right now. They also forgot...

Van Buren in IGN's top cancelled games

Sort of a wonky list..... I actually got to play SC: Ghost at E3 before it was canned... Trust me, we're not missing a damn thing. The controls were horrible, and the graphics were pretty bad too. I also agree that this list skipped over Arcanum 2. I mean, really, how the hell do you miss that?!?
