    My Fallout 3 adventures! - Day 1

I wouldn't say it outdoes the originals, though I have not gotten all that far. I do, however, think it is an improvement over Oblivion. I also think it feels like Fallout, overall. In particular, I feel like the SPECIAL system translates pretty well so far. The decisions you make in...

    Getting Immersion from a FPP

The expanded crosshair is the only option that sounds natural to me. And very low skills would have no crosshair. If the crosshair is normal and you just miss, that is so counterintuitive as to significantly decrease the immershun. And the Op is right... It is very difficult to get an...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

The Oblivion engine was solid for Oblivion... The engine was probably not one of the game's faults. I am one of those that is willing to wait and see on FO3, but I am not optimistic. I'm probably in the minority on this forum, but FO and BG make up four of my favorite RPG's. Probably my...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

Sorrow: I've never played Operation Flashpoint, and the different games we've played may cause our differing opinions. Field of view and controls have not significantly influenced my enjoyment of FPS's, but depth has. What is called Twitch gameplay is fun sometimes, and maybe there are some...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

I appreciate the irony in the name Megaton, but we all care about things that others couldn't give two shits about. But iso... Fallout had a pretty deep combat system. It's not perfect, but I have first person shooters for when I'm in the mood. Way too many of them, in fact. How deep can...

Yeah that was top of my list, but so impossible I didn't bother.

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

What I am saying is it is a relatively minor continuity issue. It does not invalidate Fallout entirely in and of itself. We should be more worried about bigger things. My biggest concern is this: Am I forced to save my father? What if I didn't like the fucker? I want to be able to kill...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

I know fusion power doesn't explode, I work in the nuclear industry. That is why I threw in the bit about the scientists. I'll clarify: If the prediction of the future is from a scientists perspective, then yes, it is inaccurate. If it is from the perspective of a 50's joe, or a 50's science...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

Thats the only continuity argument I agree with so far. Its pretty valid. The fallout world is a ransacked one which has been picked over for anything useful so the residents can survive. So unless someone has been actively defending every car in the game, the cars would be ransacked as well.

I don't think the car's shouldn't explode just "because they didn't in the past games." It is not a major continuity issue, just a minor one, and the developer deserves some chance for creative freedom, as long as it does not violate the plot in a major way. I think the major issues with...

    World Without Us

Yeah all the nuclear stockpiles and reactors would just be persisting sources of radiation for years to come. Probably speed up evolution a little bit, hehe. No explosions, maybe a few meltdowns. I know the reactors I have knowledge of are designed to drop the control rods in such cases...

Why doesn't the community make their own FO3?

Yeah I saw that, kinda shot me down. But the FMF looks cool so far. I appreciate it, though. And the discussion persisted, so I did too.

Why doesn't the community make their own FO3?

Wow that sucks about the dev... Thats why i suggested a communal effort on the story. From what I've seen, nobody on here would be likely to embrace a story from a fan. You want Bethsoft to listen and interact, so of course you would want a modder to. For example, I think part of the...

Why doesn't the community make their own FO3?

I noticed a modding section, I looked through it to see if the idea had been mentioned, noticed that there were, in fact, modders, and suggested the idea to find out. I just put it here because it was more of an idea than an actual mod. I assumed a little, but I was mostly hoping. I know I...

Why doesn't the community make their own FO3?

I told you I wasn't a creative guy, I was trying to get ideas flowing. You don't have to be a programmer to discuss what the Fallout 3 you would like would be. Seems like it would be a nice break from being depressed over what Fallout 3 is going to be. Then, if something ever did materialize...
