If you look at the head of this thread there are some post fixes since the last release of 1.2. Some are included in silent updates to the Installer.
Plus the Fallout 2 Restoration Project Technical Wiki has a number of fixes listed for RP 1.3.
Also I believe Killap should have the honor to...
killap includes an older version (1.29) of ddraw written by Timeslip.
Timeslip's website with a newer version (1.35d) which may help and is gotten from here.
Also timeslip's thread on NMA is this one.

PS: I'm not using vista so I don't know anything more that can help...
Sweet, I was watching your webpage and downloaded it.
No crashing! :D
Glad that I can be of help. I loved playing the Fallout series and all of Black Isle's games. Interplay made a bad move so long ago.

Edit: I'll keep watching for anymore silly bugs. Oh and I...
I have disabled various things until it stopped crashing.
;Set to 1 to enable additional scripting functions

Set it to 0 and it no longer crashes in 1.35c with a default INI when I equip a Plant Spike.
This is the problem for my Windows XP SP3 system.

Hey timeslip,
The game still crashes with the same message in a vanilla (1.02d NA patch) version with ddraw.dll and no changes to the default values of ddraw.ini.
This is the save game for a 1.02d vanilla version of Fallout 2. Not with killap's patch or restoration patch.
Edit: removed...
Hmm, yet in 1.29d, the Plant Sprike works fine being put into the weapon slot. I didn't change anything to the INI besides the city limit fix and the World Map cities amount (so that it would work with Killap's Restoration Patch).
Maybe it's my save game or my character's stats or the point...
Heya timeslip,
Stumbled on another bug. *chuckles*
Tested it against 1.29d and 1.35b.
Crash occurs in 1.35b but not in 1.29d.
What happens is when you try to put a Plant Spike (gotten shortly after fighting the plants in the garden) into either weapon slot it crashes Fallout2.exe...
Thanks for looking into them so quickly. I figured the first one was just something that would be more trouble than what it is worth. It's not a big deal.
Anyways, it is awesome that things are moving along nicely. :)
First I haven't played F2 in a long long time and am pleasantly pleased to see dedicated people working on making it even better than before. (this is also my first post)
That said I have installed Fallout 2 plus the Fallout 2 Restoration Project Patch v1.2.
This comes with a much older...
