Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

Obsidian, having access to the game source code, could fix the dialogue system quite easily. Just as they've fixed FO3 idiotic weapons range. My ideology is simple - if there is something I like, I pay for it. If I don't like it - I don't pay. I didn't buy FO3, I won't ever buy FO4. If...

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

You've just illustrated why I've spent 2x less time on NMA in 12 years than you have in 3 months. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/zealot

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

I would rather "invest" $40 than spend weeks of my life fixing problems Bethesda made with questionable results. Would you stop trying to tell me what I should and should not do with my time and my money? Besides, yes - this pointless discussion takes time as well.

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

I've tried, searched for solutions, made my research. Unfortunately there is no way to fix that horror:

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

Look, I am a GC junkie. I can't help it - it's my orientation :) I've been doing CG in Lightwave (I pirated then) in 1990s, I had my share of OpenGL programming, some game programming, Blender, Maya animation... I love a good RPG as the next NMA regular, but I love frickin' visuals as well, they...

    Potential for Fallout: New York

You thought that was racism? Wait until you meet aliens there

Pete Hines explains what Bethesda's idea of a RPG is

True. That matches my observations, because that's now "hardcore" Skyrim "roleplayers" understand roleplaying - you chop wood for the whole day in order to pay for stuff, you make tonnes of potions to raise Alchemy skill, etc. Basically any grinding considered in Bethesda community - not just by...

Why Fallout 4 is not a good Fallout: Argument: special playthroughs

Yep. Thing is - Nature is not popular science magazine. It's "hardcore" science magazine ;)

Why Fallout 4 is not a good Fallout: Argument: special playthroughs

No offence, but "Why Fallout 4 is not a good Fallout" on NMA reads like "Why Earth is not flat" in the Nature magazine.

    Thoughts on a Fallout movie?

I don't think a movie based on the game would be successful. The problem with games is that they are supposed to be interactive - as opposed to movie being narrative. "A movie based on a game" sounds as sensible as "dance based on a football match". OTOH a movie or TV series based on Fallout...

Where do the Brotherhood's "procurement specialists" get the food from?

I'd say, FNV, while being Obsidian game, couldn't break completely free from Bethesda "economical model" - where soldiers, raiders, bandits vastly outnumber those members of the society that actually produce food. Apparently 1 farmer can feed like 3 legion soldiers, 3 NCR rangers, a couple of...

Isometric TBRPG or New Vegas-styled FPSRPG?

I know there are great isometric games released recently, like Wasteland 2 and PoE. Neither do I buy that BS argument that isometric is "old" and FPS is "modern" - FFS, I played Wolfenstein 3D (yes, the original one) and crapload of other FPSs (DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D) long before Fallout came out...

Isometric TBRPG or New Vegas-styled FPSRPG?

Isometric sucks because you can't have sex mods then. So it's either FPS or over-the-shoulder turn based. Don't remember a single game done in a latter manner though. Or maybe I don't know the gaming market that well.

    The Bethesdafication of Fallout

Ideas don't die that easily. At worst it would lay dormant until crowd-funding took off. And most probably we would have Fallout 3 made by inXile in place of Wasteland 2. I'm not saying I'm not happy with inXile releasing Wasteland 2 - just I'd be even happier with FO3 made by them.

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

I don't care about FO3 HD at all, and while I would most probably buy FNV HD (those character animations still hurt to look at, so I would pay a hefty sum just to fix that), I'm worried about 1) new engine limitation (no skills? really?) 2) mods. I'm not sure I would want to play FNV w/o mods.
