Just completed my playthrough. Went with a Kamikaze/Fast Shot build with an emphasis on Small and Big Guns.
Forgot Miniguns chewed through ammo much more quickly in 2, so I found myself using rockets instead of the mini gun for the Master. Took several tries, but it’s doable.
I also noticed...
I will admit, New Vegas has quite a few issues from a pure gameplay standpoint. A lot of which are stuff from 3.
That’s why I modded the game to bring it as close to the older games as possible. Multiple companions, bigger emphasis on specialization, ect.
*shrug*
Bitching can be fun. Watching Bethesda trip all over themselves with Fallout is good for a laugh and we can reminisce about the good time we had with the classics and New Vegas.
Oh people loved the Brotherhood, but not in the way Bethesda thought.
To be fair, Fallout 1's Overseer can't die by normal means either. Although Bethesda definitely went overboard in that department.
Tactics also introduced the Brotherhood having airships didn’t it? Kinda felt that was a bit ridiculous when I saw it in videos of four only to find out that was a thing before Bethesda got the property.
I have a hard time deciding really.
New Vegas I played first and it has some sentimental value to me. It actually got me to try out the older games.
1 though has probably the tightest written story and has a unique atmosphere that hasn’t been replicated in the other games.
I do love New Vegas...
So, will the number of companions you can have be determined by your Charisma like in 2? I'd imagine not since there isn't that many in this game, but I am curious.
Maybe it’s because I played New Vegas first, but I honestly prefer it.
I feel the story and set up just has a better flow and I really enjoyed the central conflict. It also has some of my favorite characters in the series.
2 was great as well, but for me, the first few hours are a bit of a...
I know 3 and 4 both have aspects of them that contradict the lore established in previous games or are otherwise a bit nonsensical.
One thing that I'm kinda split on is how the Brotherhood of Steel is depicted in the later games.
Now, I've never played 4 or Tactics, so my knowledge is limited...
The best thing about this I feel is that there will be a bunch of people curious about the classic games and New Vegas and want to try them out in anticipation for this or after playing it.
Sure you'll have the "they're too old and outdated" group, but hey, they'll still be fun to argue and...
