Jenian, Are you using sfall? If so, edit ddraw.ini in the fallout2 folder and change the setting CitiesLimitFix from 0 to 1. That worked for me.

I'm using Restoration Project 1.2 and the High Resolution Patch 1.6. Ah, that must be it... it seems I don't have 1.35c after all, but 1.35. I thought I had downloaded the newest one.. oh well. :? Thanks for the help!

Would you happen to be using the sfall mod? The same thing happened to me after I updated sfall from 1.30 to the newest version (1.35c). Fallout 2 started corrupting my saves so that when I leveled up I couldn't increase any stats at all. It also prevented Falche2 from working with the error...

Started playing F2 w/ Restoration mod some time ago. I have one problem: I seem to have the ability to jinx slot machines without doing the quest. This isn't normal, is it? I'm using version 1.2 of the Restoration Project. edit: Machines, not matchines, doh

I'd like to say something myself. Into the Wasteland is definitely the best, still too positive-sounding though. Megaton is a mess... I guess he tried to emulate the style of Mark Morgan a bit and it didn't work out at all. And the title music... doesn't work. Imo, Fallout doesn't need...

I don't have anything to comment about except that the smile he has is Very Unnatural. Based on those two pictures I wouldn't trust this guy.

The same thing happened to me after I applied one of those unofficial patches for Fallout 2. I had no choice but to restart my game using the 1.02d patch.
