Wasteland 3 announced, crowdfunding campaign to start on 5th of October

Ugh.. as a backer of Wasteland 2 I was not impressed, couldn't even get myself to finish the damn game. Won't be backing again. I also feel that studios who make games that are successful enough to deserve a second go shouldn't need crowdfunding. That being said I wish them all the best and...

"Fallout" developed by CD Projekt Red?

With all due respect to M. Pondsmith but he's 62 years old and seems pretty much semi-retired by now, the work he's most famous for he did in his 30's. And he hasn't been very active the last decade or so. Not saying he doesn't "get" the universe he helped create but we don't want him to pull a...

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

I personally loved both the rat king and the intelligent death claw. I liked the contrast between goofiness, brutality and honesty which fallout 2 provided. I think it makes for a nice dark blend of humor. But I fully understand if someone would have preferred black isle to play it straight as well.

NMA Podcast Round 5 - Interview with Chris Avellone!

Any chance you could make a .mp3 or something and share? A youtube link will work too. Could be a nice series to listen to. I'm also looking for the previous podcasts if you have them somewhere.

    Far Harbor Official Discussion

So I finally got around to playing Far Harbor and I have to say I found it a marked improvement over the base game. The combat and graphics and general bugginess of it all still leaves a lot to be desired, and most of the enemies are still bullet sponges who can block a critical hit from a...

would Fallout set in Canada gonna work?

It would be very different. The super mutants for instance, instead of trying to hit you over the head with a sledgehammer they would probably come over and say something like "You OK there little buddy EH?". And if your car broke down you might get ambushed by people wanting to help you. And if...

"Fallout" developed by CD Projekt Red?

That's exactly how I feel as well. I absolutely love what CDPR has been able to do with the source material from the books, and there is no question that CDPR are huge witcher fans. But for the Cyberpunk universe they will have to invent a lot more of the story and material themselves, and draw...

"Fallout" developed by CD Projekt Red?

I think they'd handle it exceedingly well. CD Projekt are masters of shades of grey, which is very Fallout. I'd wager they'd write a tighter, deeper, more logical and more coherent story than anything Bethesda has ever produced. The one reservation I have is that CDPR have as far as I know never...

In which science fiction or fantasy universes would you like to live?

Out of those choices I would say star trek as well, life as a whole is pretty good there. Mass Effect? Giant reaper invasion? Eff that. Star Wars? You'll probably end up a solder in someone's army, eff that. And even if you were a Jedi the whole light vs dark side gets pretty old after a...

    Your thoughts on Dogmeat

I'm sure he would. And if I was making Fallout 4 I would actually go and see him. I would listen intensely, take notes even. And then I would do the exact opposite. Another father/son chase you say.... sure Todd. Dogmeat you say? Again? Why not Todd. Liberty Prime? Again? Great idea Todd...

    Your thoughts on Dogmeat

Hahaha, the first one in the video above where he just jumps off the roof, I literally spat my monitor. Too funny. On the subject of Dogmeat I think it's lazy unimaginative writing by Bethesda, not that I'm surprised by that. Had I been making Fallout 4 I would have tried to come up with a new...

    Finally uninstalled

There are tons of graphics mods for New Vegas as well, including lots of ENB filters. If you have the graphics and cpu horsepower you can crank it up quite a bit. But honestly I don't care that much about the graphics, graphics are nice but it's not what makes the game. A good game with poor...

    Finally uninstalled

Yupp. And if anyone hasn't played Fallout NV with mods I highly recommend it. There are so many absolutely fantastic New Vegas mods over at the nexus. Project Nevada is absolutely amazing with hidden underground military bunkers that makes it feel like you're playing Fallout 1 or 2 all over...

What does NMA think about The Witcher 3?

I have to give you props for mentioning Raymond Maarloeve, that was such a well designed character and questline. I absolutely loved how the game kept toying with you (the player) and gave you little taunts like "your medallion is humming". I didn't much care for the combat in witcher 1 but that...

What does NMA think about The Witcher 3?

Witcher 3 is fantastic, all hail wither 3. The end. And I actually like the combat but it does take some getting used to, a lot of getting used to in fact. I've also rebound the signs to hotkeys and mouse buttons for quicker casting and it makes a world of difference, there's a mod for it. If...
