I have mods that allow me to gain a hunting rifle and a scope early on. With that, I take on Lonesome Road after I've dealt with Primm's problems.

how the fuck are you playing lonesome road at lvl 1? i don't go anywhere near that until ive finished honest hearts and old world blues and that's at lvl 20

I'm usually 3rd or 4th level by the time I leave Goodsprings. By the time I've traveled the 15 dealing with Primm's troubles (convicts, law & order, helping NCR retake the powder poofer prison), I'm usually around 10th level.

but still, even at level 10 lonesome road should still whoop the crap out of you. How are you dealing with deathclaws? Healing?

I use the hunting rifle to snipe the marked men in the first town, Hopeville. There, you will find sniper rifles, riot armor, red glare rocket launcher, and other fun toys. Sneak a lot and snipe. I do it every time. Advice; pump up your speech skill as you go (100%) if you want to resolve things peacefully with Ulysses.

To me, Lonesome Road doesn't exist other than the Iron Giant reference. Honestly most of my experiences with the game are happening in my head. I'm not just playing whats on screen. Come up with back stories for your character and try to be true to them. Make up convos between your character and followers.

I still take the "correct" way to Vegas as it has some of my favorite parts of the game in it. Just cutting to Vegas always feels wrong and I usually stop playing those characters that I do that with.

I usually end up leaving Ed-E because I don't have the skills necessary to get him out, and get my cheeks clapped by Ulysses and then nuke either NCR or Legion. I never go to those places after they get nuked because the sheer radiation is a no-go zone
