    The Guns and Ammo Thread

How much experience do you have with firearms and what do you expect to get from owning a firearm? Are you purely looking at home defense, or are you going for something more than that?

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

I'm sure that wherever you're from, there's plenty of ways to get yourself introduced to firearms. That said, take any recommendation (including those on this forum) with a grain of salt. Firearms are a very personal thing, what works for someone else might not work for you. The gun community...

Obsidian Announcement on 6th of December

All I could hear when the woman started talking was: "My name is Tandi, what's yours?" As for the announcement, well, I've never been a fan of FO3/FO4 or even New Vegas. But I do like games like Bioshock or V:tM-B. So I'm certainly going to give it a shot, regardless of it being first person...

Black Friday sales on Steam and GOG. What are you getting?

I got Vampyr, but it's a let down really. I'm put off by how "console-y" it is, but what irritates me most is how the dialogue (+ setting & story) lacks internal consistency. Each of these examples are in themselves not that big of a problem, but the game is so full of it: You find hints of...

    InXile joinins the Microsoft family

I would expect short term benefits, as InXile will get access to resources they've never had before. On the other hand, we all know what tends to happen to small game studios which were purchased by giants. That said, that is hopefully many years down the road.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep

Well, the butt waggling works with their funny take of the setting as a whole. Almost everything in the game is meant to be humorous and tongue-in-cheek. You're right that it's a bit tough to swallow sometimes and I have to admit I can only take it a few hours at a time before I need a break...

Encased - isometric RPG from St. Petersburg Kickstarted!

The pre-alpha gameplay looks pretty good, but what's unclear to me is if the voice-over is the actual game's narrator or is the narration only there for the purpose of this video?

The kickstarter only needs a little more to push it into completion.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep

I think the best thing about Bard's Tale IV are the setting and the silly nature of some of the dialogue. Much of the combat mechanics are quite unbalanced, exploration tedious, and much of the puzzles are meh. The game certainly could have used more polishing, but I'm still giving it a shot.

Steam sale is still going on, what did YOU buy or what are you thinking of picking up?

I finished both. And while they're quite decent, they are severely lacking in many areas. It's too bad really. Story progression feels slow and doesn't really draw you in It's sometimes hard to know where the game expects you to go, and you can walk into areas which are way above your level...

Steam sale is still going on, what did YOU buy or what are you thinking of picking up?

I got Divinity: Original Sin (Enhanced Edition) & Divinity: Original Sin 2 because I somehow missed them when they were originally released. Considering it's a studio local to me, I'm giving them a shot.

BATTLETECH! Seriously frustrating at times. But enjoyable.

    Black Panther

Enki Bilal? Jean Giraud aka Mœbius? Jean Van Hamme? Or classics like Hergé & René Goscinny? I mean, some stuff by Ellis etc aint bad, but he has a lot of ups & downs. But you're really comparing european graphic novels to american superhero comics at that point, and that's a really uneven...

    Alpha Protocol

I really enjoyed how it played on my first play through. But when I tried to play it again later, the gameplay somehow felt changed and I never got that same feel back. It was mostly about how the controls and character behavior felt. I'm not sure if it was due to a patch or something else, but...

    Black Panther

Ugh. American superhero comics are virtually always shit. There's some rare exceptions, but when you're used to the quality of French or Belgian graphic novels, it's hard to see any redeeming features in most mainstream Marvel and DC comics.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Been playing way too much Vermintide 2, but now that I've got all my classes leveled and properly equipped, I'm not sure what more can be done. It's fun to play, but a lot of the outcomes are quite random and in the end luck dependent on Legend difficulty. Doesn't help that there's quite a few...
