    Another World Revisited

At least you noticed it, I had no clue there was one until I read your post. I spent 20 minutes trying to piece the site together using high school French until I finally found the screenshot page.

How would you feel about a "No Save RPG"?

I hate checkpoint save systems - not because they make it harder to "cheat" the system, but because more often than not I don't have the ability to keep playing for another 30-60 minutes to reach the next checkpoint. Whether it's just tiredness or some real-world obligation, sometimes I just...

    Oblivion out today

For my first mod I'm going to make my own "horse armor" - it won't be armor for your horse, but rather armor that has been modified so that in first-person view you see a horse head in front of you and the horse noises get played when you wear it. That way you can get the experience of "riding a...

Small info on Beth I noticed today...

So instead of simply fixing the "commented out" parts, they changed the quest rewards and possibly introduced more bugs? What were they thinking?

How would you feel about a "No Save RPG"?

You forgot to add that in Nethack you will die very, very, very often. I've gotten to the point where I can reliably get any character to the first few levels of the Gnomish mines or the regular dungeons at the same depth, but I've never been able to keep anyone alive much longer than that...

How would you feel about a "No Save RPG"?

That I can deal with - it's frustrating, but it's a good kind of frustrating making you want to be a better and more attentive player, rather than the kind that makes you swear at the computer and want to throw it out the window. Now that TOEE is as stable as it's going to get I might give...

V For Vendetta out this week!

Well, Silent Hill is out this week - it's looking good so far, and if it's as true to the games as it seems and makes some money hopefully other (non-Uwe Boll of course) video game movies will follow it's lead.

How would you feel about a "No Save RPG"?

For me, it would really depend on the difficulty, length and how much of the game depended on luck or random rolls. If "death" or losing the game were completely factors within my control, ie my skill or my characters stats/abilities, I could see it being pretty fun and engrossing. On the other...

Small info on Beth I noticed today...

I was really surprised by Oblivion's stability. I was expecting the same thing as Morrowind; extremely frequent crashes, falling through floors all the time, weird glitches, it eventually just "stopping" and not allowing me to alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del out and forcing me to reboot. So far I...

    Fallout 3 speculation

I agree with you about the "with certainty" and "crap game" part, but I don't think precedent is something that can or should be ignored. As developers they've made 6 Elder Scrolls games, all of which are more similar than not - they have evolved and changed but there haven't been any "wow we...

    Fallout 3 speculation

All right, let's not let this get ugly guys. Debate and arguing is fine, but there's no reason to let it get personal and start flinging insults at each other.

Small info on Beth I noticed today...

That's true - it's "The Orrery". As you and others have said, it's ridiculous for them to charge money for simple things like that and mage's guild teleportation, but they are technically "added content" Patches, on the other hand, are just things that fix desktop crashes, glitches...

Small info on Beth I noticed today...

I didn't see anything about charging for patches in either of those links - they are just charging for plug-ins which add extra content, not fixes for the shipped game. I wouldn't worry about it - charging for patches would be business suicide, no company is stupid enough to do that. Wrong...

Suggestion thoughts now that you've seen the engine.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but why would you, or anyone else who has ADD and wants games that appeal to and reinforce it, being playing RPGs - games which tradtionally reward and cater to people who enjoy dialogues, text, storylines, and general depth in all aspects of the game? In...
