Whats the point of the Super Mutant cure?

I hate to defend Bethesda here but the Insitute having FEV makes sense. Not that they HAD it, just that at some point they had a defector from the Enclave barter their life in exchange for the blueprints of old FEV and possibly Curing FEV. They already are transhumanists so they try and get the...

Looking for two kinds of mods

I know I understand. For the record STUN, you tie up enemies, they aren't going anywhere but they ARE NOT DEAD, you must untie them and have a companion kill them to complete the quest. Also, you CANNOT fast travel around them and this is MADDENING.

Looking for two kinds of mods

As far as I'm aware it is impossible to have a character register as dead from fatigue damage. It's not a matter of increasing the fatigue damage, I've played with a lot of mods that drop the fatigue to zero or below, stun ammo in STUN and also knocking people out with a shovel. They are still...

Looking for two kinds of mods

Actually, the mod I want that's from Fallout 4 is Perfect Pacify. THAT'S the one where you can exile people you've pacified and they count as dead for quest purposes. I DMed the author at Nexus but he's not been on since January.

Looking for two kinds of mods

For Fallout 3 or especially new vegas, 1. I want a mod that gives you XP if you FAIL speech checks. Failure is the great teacher and frankly, it would make a playthrough a lot funnier. If it's set up you can continue barter chains anyway and fail ever more epically, all the better. I'm...

Does anyone have the Kid in the Fridge Ghost mod?

I can't find ANY evidence this mod ever existed, but I swear years ago I saw a fix mod for Kid in the Fridge, where you talk to Billy as normal but when you open the door, there's nothing but a child's skeleton inside and you're left to wonder if you were talking to a ghost or your SS is losing...

New York isn’t a crater. Fallout 4 confirms as much.

Gotta disagree with you there. And I think I got decent reasons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salted_bomb What you're talking about, in practice is a salted bomb. Now there's never been real formal tests of the stuff, but experiments in that direction have been tried and they failed. There's...

New York isn’t a crater. Fallout 4 confirms as much.

OK, the thing about us surviving a full-scale nuclear war, I disagree with you. Me personally, I might not ever have been born (actually I would as my parents were both born in small towns) but humanity would survive. Fallout's only bad for two weeks and after three days you're at least as...

New York isn’t a crater. Fallout 4 confirms as much.

There's something you have to remember, a couple of things: 1. ABM systems DO exist, the whole reason SLC got hit with seven is that their ABM system probably malfunctioned entirely. House's system was a lot more advanced but 88 missiles headed for Nevada sounds about right.2. Treaty...

Armored Vehicles in the Interplay Fallout Verse

Well, we don't know, BUT, based on the fact that Fallout is the Jetsons as envisioned by the 1950s, I'm gonna say hoover. Maybe not the frontline vehicles, but the armored scouting cars, howitzers, etc, hover and only have rudimentary all-wheel drive capacity for emergency breakdown purposes...

Can you really call yourself a Fallout fan if you love Fallout 4, honestly?

Well....I am a Fallout fan because there are PARTS of this game I absolutely loved. I loved the IDEA of an unked Boston I Loved the idea of robots wanting to use the USS Constitution (not the rockets and not wanting to fight the Chinese versus raider piracy) I LOVED the set up of the main story...

New York isn’t a crater. Fallout 4 confirms as much.

My Dude, you do realize there' a whole upstate? Also called New York? And even if you want NYC to be a crater, I certainly do.....I mean in the game and certainly not in real life...then New York City is a Crater is likely not include ALL the whole of all five boroughs. Staten Island would...

Bethesda NEVER Understood Fallout Video Essay

And you're saying the both the Great War and the end of the Tiber line WEREN'T catastrophically destructive disasters? Yeah, neither damaged the infrastructure but neither did Captain Tripps in the Stand. Apocalypses are political in nature and they happen more or less all the time. WWI was the...

Bethesda NEVER Understood Fallout Video Essay

YOu're not getting what I'm saying. Post-apocalyptic isn't about dead forests and environmental decay or anything like that. It's about government collapse. Even without the Storcloacks, the authorities have lost control of the countryside. You have, with the exception of Rorikstead, which I...

Bethesda NEVER Understood Fallout Video Essay

How? Skyrim is basically post-apocalyptic in the way Fallout is supposed to be. The countryside is a lawless hellhole, war is everywhere but there are odd and awe-inspiring cities that are thriving despite the perils of overland trade. It has horses, it's pretty, it's vibrant it's visually...

Could a fan remake be done of Fallout 1/2 on a different engine?

Well, how applicable could that level editor work in an RPG setting? Not just setting up enemies to fight, but designing towns, NPCs, putting together dialogue, that sort of thing?

Could a fan remake be done of Fallout 1/2 on a different engine?

Not modding exactly. I mean there were total conversions and tweeks back in 2000, but when I said mods I meant the midlevel, modular, self contained quests and objectives that are basically for Adventure and RPGs. Beleive me if there had been modding for Fallout and Arcanum I would have had a...

Fallout mods and their compatibility with canon

I'm fleshing out a Civ 2: TOT mod based on Fallout. Not canon Fallout, but broad strokes. I wanted to include fan made mods with great ideas, like Behtans Lollipopz scanrios, Someguy2000s Series, but also the EPA from Fallout 2 Restored, and SOME ideas from Fallout 76 (no scorched beasts, no...

Could a fan remake be done of Fallout 1/2 on a different engine?

What I meant is yes, you CAN make an open world, but you'll NEVER have the resources to fill it. I think Arcanum wasted it's open world, but let's be real modding wasn't a thing in 2000. The reason I want closed maps is to give travel weight and to make it very easy for mod makers to create...

Gifs from Fallout for Civilization scenario?

Here's my idea, not here yet. I was thinking about building a totally awesome Fallout mod.....for Civilization2: Test of Time. Why a 20-year-old game? I know the game, it's easy to mod, and there's a fantastic community still making highly scripted event-driven scenarios. AND if someone could...
