Brother None counts down his favourite games

All it took for me to make the controls better was buying a cheap dual analog gamepad, I don't think you need to try the console version just for that. And the game is still very playable with keyboard and mouse, it's just that platformers are always better played with gamepads.

Brother None counts down his favourite games

Psychonauts plays entirely differently from Grim Fandango, therefore these games have entirely different controls. I don't remember playing any 3D platformers with controls vastly superior to those of Psychonauts, so I don't see what's the problem. Anyway, if you are letting some internet talk...

Brother None counts down his favourite games

I was waiting for Psychonauts to show up on this list, based on what BN said about this game before. It would make my personal top 5, although probably cause I'm younger than BN. I agree about it's charm outshining it's gameplay, although I don't find anything bad about gameplay neither nor do I...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I hope you know you need to play Escape From Butcher Bay first and only then Dark Athena? And I envy all you bastards who get to play Brutal Legend. Fuck, it hurts.

    Australia bans Risen!

It's a very solid action RPG. Been doing lots of partying lately so haven't gone far into the game so far. I'm level 9 and I'm yet to reach Harbour Town, been doing lots of exploring and hunting. Combat is still very challenging and I'm playing it on Normal difficulty. Especially these fucking...

    Graphix card halp plox

That is why I'd recommend going for 4850 or 9800GT, unless you are planing to upgrade your CPU in near future as well. 1.86ghz just isn't fast enough to get most of that card. I even doubt you would get any use for 1 GB video memory with it, you might as well stick with 512 MB.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I get the feeling most of reviewers sucked at this game, for about an hour or two, then stopped playing. Risen does have an old school feel to it, when you get a quest you have to actually use your brain to get it done, there is no quest compass telling you where to go. A lot of people probably...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Risen is pretty damn great so far. I'm still at the beginning (I chose the Don's camp) so I can't say much, but what I experienced so far was very much up my alley. Pretty much every NPC I got to talk to had quests for me, also everyone is stronger than me in the beginning, I got my ass kicked...

    once upon a pixel...

Wow, this was pretty awesome. I laughed a lot. A must for anyone who played through the whole game.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Well I'm a big fan of FPS games too, and I also love RTCW, but didn't manage to like new Wolfenstein. If you still haven't realised, it doesn't have much in common with RTCW. Of course I'm not saying there is no chance you might enjoy it. I suppose it's an ok game, if judging my modern piss easy...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Patton89, I gotta ask - why then do this to yourself? Personally, I'd rather enjoy something really good countless times, than experience something shitty even for a single time. That goes not only for games, but also movies, TV shows and books.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Serge, just force yourself to pick up RE5. If you actually managed to enjoy crap like Dark Sector, you'll certainly like this one. Then wait till the price for BAA drops, it's a really good game, at least on Hard it is. And I really think you should skip the new Wolfenstein.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

It's pretty much more of the same, which for me is just fine. Overall inferior to RE4 but still a very solid game in my opinion. I just wish they copied inventory system from RE4, new one tends to become a pain in the ass on the number of occasions.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Unlockable Professional mode does kick ass, and it is also fun to return to it after a playthrough with already upgraded weapons to give back some ass kicking. Also, it's fun to unlock various weapons. You also unlock various game modes and another shorter story mode in which you play as Ada. It...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I get the feeling some people look at how AI behaves and expect from it human like behaviour. Of course that's not gonna happen. As AI, your partner in RE5 is pretty well done.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Actually, I found her quite useful in a fight. She's not genius in any way, but does hold her own. I mainly gave all the healing items to her, and worried only about shooting. She did ok with that assignment, contrary to what Yahtzee in his review said. Also, she saved my ass more times than I...

District 9 - Viral marketing that actually worked for me!

I enjoyed first half of it and I thought it had a good premise to go somewhere these type of movies don't usually go, however, eventually it went to standard boring action area and I stopped caring. It's a shame, I really think it had potential for something better. All in all, far from worst...

    Zero Punctuation

So uh.. I guess I'll double post to bump this thread no one cares about. Review of the new Wolfenstein is up and it is one of his best clips to date. This is the first time I heard poetry about video game sucking. Everyone who might be thinking Yahtzee has lost his charm lately, take a look.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

It did work for me on XP once I set compatibility mode to win2000 or win98, can't remember for sure. But yeah, it does kinda suck. I noticed I'm getting real slow at finishing games lately, I'm still on my first playthrough of System Shock 2 even though I really like it (several parts with...
