I don't thing being funny was ever a goal in Fallout. The gaming press made a big deal about the "black humor" when attempting to describe the atmosphere, and it stuck. The FO2 team decided that was a strength of the original and tried to amp up the funny. I don't think they succeeded, but...

EU3 In Nomine, Fallout 3, Baseball Mogul 2009 are about all I played in 2008. All great fun. Bioshock and Half-Life 2 Ep. 2 may have made the cut, I can't remember if I played them last year or this year though.
