Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

The downside I see to not having a gauge is that games still aren't mega reliable, and so you might end up getting, for example, a big heap of bad karma for something you didn't even see coming. (like scavenging goods or killing certain enemies) I know it pops up with, "good karma/bad karma"...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

In the beginning, it really did sound like a cheat, despite me wanting such a thing in there. It always sounded like as soon as VATS came on, the smallest weapon could take down 3 Super Mutants with ease. But, as you pointed out, in the last couple of previews here, they finally stated that...

Bethesda open to Fallout 3 film idea

@terebikun & Moving Target: That's interesting you guys liked the Dune miniseries better than the film. But again, as I said, I really didn't hate it. I was speaking more in terms with the atmosphere, performances, etc. All those great actors and scenes. I didn't think the miniseries...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

I can't remember what bonuses (if any) occurred naturally, but what I do remember off hand was the "Silent Death" perk. Description: While Sneaking, if you hit a critter in the back, you will cause double damage using a HtH attack. Silent Death is that kind of Perk. Number of Ranks: 1...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

lol, I don't mind if there were multiples, but I'd like a choice of what I take or don't take beyond the initial ones. Having a multiple safehouse setup that you earn like medals, like GTA, would be too gamey. I'd hate to have to keep making a choice like, "I want to live in an apartment, so I...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

From what I saw from the videos, I think you're right, there really aren't any nice death animations to speak of to help along the ragdoll. (it's not going to be like GTA IV with that Euphoria engine) The quivering though may have been there. I thought I noticed it when the player took a...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

And as much issue that has been taken with Beth's approach, or lack thereof, of consequences; here there actually are consequences for going out alone and taking out something without initial knowledge of it. Maybe the previewer was wrong, but I'd believe them in what they said, that there are...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

Yeah, one of the other previews mentioned something about how hidden information is still intact through computers, etc. Glad to hear it. (edit: It did sound as though one of the few truly well done things in Oblivion though was background information?) Too bad though about the chipper. I...

Crispy Gamer's 4 Hours with Fallout Pt. 2

Wow...I was really impressed with this preview. I agree with Fear_Embodied especially; that Wondermeat, along with a couple of other things, actually sounded like pure Fallout to me. lol, like the Molerat named Pumpkin. :) I'm impressed. This was the kind of preview I was hoping for...

Bethesda open to Fallout 3 film idea

@Multidirectional: I think the miniseries idea is a great one. It didn't even occur to me. I've been on a kick here recently of Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Rome and a couple of others, and those are/were all awesome shows taken seriously. I think if you gave it to the right guy, I think the...

Bethesda open to Fallout 3 film idea

@Mandrake: Yeah, thanks for reminding me about the first game, and like I said, I don't know what happened with the movie to really make fall apart. I didn't have a problem with Radha being the protaganist at all, and the basic story. (especially the end; very cool) They were so close to...

Bethesda open to Fallout 3 film idea

I'm not fighting you on it, but although some of the basics were there, it wasn't the same story as the game was it? I thought it was a specially made prologue to SH2. I didn't remember anything that was in the first game, although it has been a long time since I played it. Even though I...

Bethesda open to Fallout 3 film idea

I always thought Fallout 1 or 2 would make a cool movie since I love Mad Max, but it's thoroughly depressing how there are so many talented film people out there and none of them would be the ones to grab the rights to a Fallout movie. Game movies are slowly getting better and better though...

Crispy Gamer, UGO, GamePro preview Fallout 3

What I am surprised about in these previews is just how short some of them are. A few are very intuitive, like that one written as a journal, but... despite the negativity, I'm still stoked to play this game and if I had 4 whole hours with it, I think I could discover, or at least write about...

    GiantBomb previews Fallout 3

I hope that's really true for F3. I do think it helped them immensely to be able to focus more on fewer characters and more limited/detailed areas, etc. So far it looks promising from what we've heard.

:) No, it was some of your points I was agreeing with and trying to back up! You made a good argument. Thanks for clarifying though. Anyway...I think someday we might see that level of A.I. control, (such as Fable as dabbled in it) but not quite yet. :)

    GiantBomb previews Fallout 3

Eh, well...I guess if you're going to think Vampires are stupid, you can think they're stupid. I mean, as far as I go, I'm a pretty basic thinker and it isn't a stretch for me that there would be anything that crazy out in the wastes. As Battlestar Galactica states quite well, people always...

    GiantBomb previews Fallout 3

I think as long as the insinuation and general idea is there, like the slavery and discrimination, it's fine, because it's good for the atmosphere. A few things that should never be removed from Fallout. As far as the actual act and fade out goes, I'm cool with that. This isn't GTA.

    GiantBomb previews Fallout 3

You may just as well be right, but I'll reserve that judgment until after I play the game. Even when it came to The Master from Fallout 1, if you just blew through the dialog like they do in these demos, you'd just think, "oooh, big ugly bad guy." But after exploring the dialog choices, you...

    GiantBomb previews Fallout 3

Yeah, I agree, though it would be kind of funny to see a guy who had built the 'cult' around a salvage of old 50's Dracula movies. :) He'd wear the cape and everything. :D Not that the setting is correct, but a vampire clan similar to what was seen in 'The Matrix' would be cool. (the...
