Starcraft 2 will jump out of your monitor with 3D

I think the more important reason is that it might very well help them in legal battles against copyright infringers. The LAN mode is what provided the loophole that lead to them losing a previous such lawsuit.

Starcraft 2 will jump out of your monitor with 3D

The SC2 beta is already out. Their reason is likely not a technical one, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not a good one.

    Dead Rising 2

I was more interested in Dead Rising 1 based on its concept alone, but that never got a PC port. So this'll have to do instead.

    Favorite CONSOLE Rpgs

I disagree with most of that, obviously. I think it's a bit silly to single it out for traits present in basically every single JRPG ever, though. Encounter-rate modifying items have pretty drastic effects in ToDr. You can basically run through a dungeon without a single random encounter if...

    Favorite CONSOLE Rpgs

Once you get a handle on the forging system, it's not that difficult. Also, you should go back and complete it. Cheat if you want, I don't care. I'd say the game has one of the best endings ever (up there with Torment and Fallout). I like the rest of Matsuno's games, FF Tactics, FF XII, Ogre...

Starcraft 2 - It is out there

If that's meant to imply that you'd like a beta key as well, I might be able to acquire one (I know a guy who should have a couple of those leftover). SC1 was a game and an expansion over the course of 8 months. SC2 will be a game and two expansions over the course of 36 months (assuming...

    Team Fortress 2

And that's precisely what happened to TF2 on consoles. :P Enjoy your hardware restrictions and arbitrary limitations on updates. TF2 would have about ten such updates to sell, then, hopelessly splintering the playerbase. Bit different situation there.

    Rage trailer

The game isn't going to be streamed off the disc on PC, so that isn't even a concern there. They could put it on a hundred Bluray discs and it wouldn't make a difference, as long as you had a large enough hard drive.

Gabe Newell talks about Piracy and Steam (Video)

It's so effective they're removing LAN play from SC2 for anti-piracy reasons. Yeah. But when publishers are unwilling to get rid of DRM on their decade-old titles to be put up on GOG, I certainly don't see them releasing their brand new titles with any less DRM than Steam provides. Some will...

    Edge of Twilight

It's coming for PC as well, actually. They don't advertise it because "PC gaming is dead" or whatever, I guess. I really liked the blood effect, actually. It's so over-the-top. Anyway, steampunk = interesting. Let's see whether they make a decent game out of it.

They are bitching about L4D 2...

That wouldn't be their first broken promise, y'know. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." If they'll continue to not-deliver DLC at the same rate as they've been doing so far, that's not too likely to be of any significance. Months to patch bugs, half a year to add in a...

They are bitching about L4D 2...

They already dropped it, pretty much. Post-release support is nothing like what they've talked about. And Turtle Rock is not exactly Valve, made apparent by Gabe Newell commenting on how L4D2 "goes against the character of the company".

A new Fallout game... by Obsidian?

With a bit of luck, that's another of Hines' untruths, and there's a chance of a decent game set in the Fallout universe being made.

Mad Max 4 Will be an Animated Movie

So, a Western version of Hokuto no Ken, or what? Quite bizarre. I'm reminded of Yoshiaki Kawajiri's Highlander. Was pretty weak as a whole, but visually it's still quite nice, so this might not be that bad after all.

    Team Fortress 2

Are you thinking of tf_damage_disablespread? That's been there for some time now. They fixed that, too. Not sure if they broke it again since then, though. Natascha was pretty awesome during that time it was working properly, anyway. Scouts/pyros/medics were pretty much boned, and with a bit...

    Todd Howard at NYCC

Suddenly my hopes for a non-FPS X-COM are a bit higher. Well, if that's what he's working on, anyway.

2d gameplay with 3d graphic game makes me wonder...

Yoshinori Ono says it's because he felt they wouldn't be able to surpass SF3. The lack of pixel artists might also be the reason - fewer 2D games means fewer 2D artist. You now have more detail on the characters and animations running at up to infinite frames per sec, in any case. Well, in...

I'm going to just link to this article, it's an interesting read about Nintendo's strategy.

    Emil Pagliarulo makes Top Deck

Checked out the whole list. For some reason, "Ace of Hearts: John Riccitiello" made me crack up. Also, Emil being on the list of progressives is, relatively speaking, deserved, when the good doctors of Bioware made the top spot. I mean, what the hell.
