    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #67

Supposedly, you'll be able to toggle voiceovers between Japanese and English on a per-character basis.

I forgot to add Street Fighter 4. (Which was supposedly well-received so far by not only the SF2, but the SF3 community as well. Despite that it's not 2D, and the parry system is gone)

OH SHIT GUESS STARCRAFT 2'S GONNA TANK NOW And Diablo 3 too, I guess. By the time that comes out, that'll have decade-old expectations as well.

I thought that was the work of Babelfish. Apparently not.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #58

I always found this pretty odd - no one ever gets more specific than "the naysayers concerns have been addressed properly". Especially odd when on one hand you have this, and on the other things like... ...this. I can't wait for reviews going "Fallout 4 has a really good story, unlike the...

    Fallout 3 tidbits

I'd say not all choice needs to be one that changes the story - the old dungeon crawling RPGs are still considered RPGs (at least in the "computer RPG" sense), yes? Heck, you could play a P&P session that involved no choices in the story department, just about how you massacre the untold hordes...

    Fallout 3 tidbits

Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System had the same sort of class selection at the beginning of the game as FF1 did, actually.

    Fallout 3 tidbits

Not all, thankfully. I never really got the separation of combat and exploration gameplay being a major complaint against the genre, though. Realms of Arkania also did this, didn't it? Also, Anachronox was awesome, you heretic. Wouldn't those simply be turn-based tactical games (JA, X-COM...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #57

It's not really "how about Fallout 1 and 2", I believe. It's that I can't figure out how one could check out VATS and say "you know what this reminds me of? UFO and Jagged Alliance, that's what!". ...Seriously?

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

So, are we going to get a Fallout 3 review that actually rates the game as an RPG, and compares it to Fallout 1/2? No, what makes it funny is that considering you can just launch a bunch of dollar bills at a 200-year-old car to set it on fire and have it explode, initiating a nuclear...

    Kotaku: Fallout 3 is broken

The joke is that "Wasteland life post-VATS" actually does work like that, now that VATS is an in-universe device, instead of the abstraction turn-based combat was in the originals.

As snarky as ever, huh? Should be a fairly entertaining read.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #42

Yeah, because we really did need the massively predictable 10/10 "reviews" almost completely devoid of information.

I just wish they'd focus on what you use your skills for, not how you use them. But it's certainly easier to shove a dull little minigame in the face of the player.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #20

The weirdness doesn't stop there, though. You'll get such comments from people, but then they'll greet you in a friendly tone, even after you've emptied a whole magazine into the wall behind him, tracing his outline with millimeter accuracy. As long as you don't actually hit them, they won't...

    Gamasutra kills children

It's linked to in the article. Here.

    Gamasutra kills children

Refer to Emil's comments on the issue. Had he said they omitted children 'cause then they'd be knee deep in shit, they would've been honest for once - and we obviously can't have that.

    Fallout 3 - First Mods

So, no child killing mod yet? I take it that means that unsetting the "invulnerable quest NPCs" flag in the INI didn't work. Yeah, Fallout 3 has actually given me a new found appreciation for every other game. Dead Space has gone from "not bad" to "awesome".

Hah. Reminded me of World of Goo. "I am a valued customer!".
