Interplay Website launched, hires Chris Taylor

Well, if one Fallout developer can make me interested in a game of genre I don't care about (Diablo 3), two Fallout developers might be able to do the same for a genre I dislike. We'll see.

    Play.tm/Weekly Blend interview Pete Hines

The problem is, you're constantly talking of three-years-ago. When the X360 intially came out, it probably really was better in terms of performance/cost. But as the performance of hardware increases exponentially, the price lowers accordingly. So nowadays the balance has shifted in the other...

    Play.tm/Weekly Blend interview Pete Hines

The new Bionic Commando game sets out to do just that. Hanging off of items not meant to support your weight (billboards, boxes) means they'll break and/or fall down. It's done by a bunch of Swedes, who were mainly PC developers, but is going to be a PC/X360/PS3 game, so I wonder just how far...

    PlayStation Universe interviews Pete Hines

Make the game turn-based, for instance having only VATS to shoot and move in combat (preferably without the overabundant cinematic slo-mo gorefest part). You can put the camera wherever you want after nailing down the gameplay mechanics.

    New Afterfall website launched

Thanks, didn't think of that. Found the old FAQ, it managed to answer all of my questions about the game. I just hope they don't end up cutting a lot of those features mentioned there.

    New Afterfall website launched

Could a kind soul link me to some descriptions of the game's mechanics? The current site is basically empty, and I haven't kept track of the game's development up to this point.

    PlayStation Universe interviews Pete Hines

Re: I wonder Hanlon's razor suggests you're deluding yourself.

    Fallout 3 at PAX: Joystiq

While "cover up" is stretching it, I certainly find it odd how previews show very little of the player choice and non-linearity the game supposedly built around. "Sure, there's lots of ways to solve quests. Now here's some more footage of bloody mess in glorious slo-mo action!"

F3 Release date for Japan announced

Gurochan disagrees with that. "If it exists, there is porn of it". Graphical dismemberment is no exception. I wonder whether the Japanese voiceovers will be better than the English ones.

Fallout 3 at PAX: Blend Games, Random Battle, Gamester

Blend Games' choice of words make it seem it was run through Babelfish ("skill traits"). For some reason this seems to be hyperbole.

Shacknews Impressions and Vault Dweller's Guide Scans

So, how does this (among other things) make its way into a a pre-war booklet? My immersion is broken'd.

Eurogamer previews Fallout 3 yet again

And again, I can point to a decade old game, Outcast, where even pointing a gun at civilians would cause them to flee, not just the sound of gunshots. It's pretty disappointing that next-gen games are next-gen in graphics only, if that. And don't forget the hype.

    Gennext Games interview and preview

A Dutch attack, a deadly lol weapon. Lols. My God.

PC Gameplay Benelux Fallout 3 preview

1.) Go play the game, then. You're missing out on one of the best action/adventure games made. 2.) It did work well, yes.

PC Gameplay Benelux Fallout 3 preview

My thoughts exactly. I'll just point to Outcast, in case people have forgotten.

PC Gamer interviews Todd & Emil

Not really? There are about as many perks as in FO1 (and since now traits are perks as well, that's actually less), and now you get to pick thrice as many, with lesser effects to keep things balanced. Both of those go towards making a less differentiated character. You might argue that...

PC Gamer interviews Todd & Emil

Info on quests other than Megaton - always nice. They still had to inject some idiocy into the interview, though. Not nice. In FO3, you did. By the way, this get-a-perk-on-level-up and the love for extreme gore reminded me of Crimsonland a bit.

    Polygamia editorializes on Fallout 3

If by "3" you mean "Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG", then it's a spinoff, much like "Fallout: Tactics" or "Final Fantasy Tactics". Shock horror.

    Fallout 3 Hands-On #4

Might be that's the attack animation for three queued up hits. I'd think Bethesda's animators are lazier than that, but it's certainly a possibility.

PC Gamer US Lays Hands on Fallout 3, and Shacknews too

I didn't really notice anyone pointing it out here, so might as well do it myself. In the Gamesradar hands-on preview, they talk of killing two super mutants with a level 2 character. Level scaling in action, beefed up PC, seriously weakened muties, extreme luck, or some combination of the above?
