    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

you need to fix the power armour strength bonuses. Make it like in the first two, where it does +3 or +4 depending on what sort it is.

Fallout 3 - Realism, the world, and trees

The Fallout universe is meant to be a burnt out wasteland.. Fallout 3, while it has a fuckload of problems, visually is what it should be. A modern concept of "realism" is irrelevant because this is retro-50's future and it doesn't matter about chernobyl or any other stuff that we know...

    Jeff Gardiner and Anchorage screenshots

Thats because its Fallout history... it's portraying a pivotal event in the history of the setting, a pre-war setting. OF COURSE it doesn't look like F1, 2, or 3. It's not MEANT to because its pre-war!

    Fallout Online: Lead Concept Artist

Given what we saw on Tactics and BOS I have very little hope for this, especially considering its an MMO. Here's hoping Anderson and Taylor can save this last ditch attempt by our favourite dying game developer.

    Re-creating Fallout 1?

That is true. This thread shows there are a lot of things to work out in terms of building the map but I'm sure it could be worked out quite easily. What I am wondering is, would it be possible to use existing voiceovers from the original?

    Re-creating Fallout 1?

This is an awesome idea, but extremely ambitious. The best thing about it is that all the graphics are basically done, as its within the confines of an existing Fallout game.

What's with Advanced Power Armor MKII in Fo3?

Ausir, I agree with you... why did the Mk 2 look exactly the same when even the description said it should look different? I assume this was probably just a result of Fallout 2 being rushed like it was towards the end. This is what some people actually believe!

    Jeff Gardiner and Anchorage screenshots

No "inbreeding" is ever necessary in the vaults due to the reality of human biology... you need at least 80 humans to have a genetically viable population that can maintain itself into the future without encountering inbreeding.. the vaults usually have a thousand or so don't they?

Fallout 2 & 3 side by side comparison

**Rev. Layle: this post is not directed at you as I realise you're ok with the setting.. just wanted to clear that up** Besides the fact that there's no such thing as "realism for a post-apoc world" and that a lot of people's views of what is realistic is extremely short sighted, Fallout 3...

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

It seems as if many of the people opposed to a first person perspective for Fallout think that a first person perspective excludes a game from being an RPG. For example, I saw in another topic people debating whether isometric turn based was a design decision or a technical limitation at the...

    1UP interview with Emil

When I refer to "NMA" I am not saying it is a single entity, I am referring to the prevailing opinion here that most people have, and have had since before they knew anything about the game. I remember people had zero enthusiasm for it the second it was announced Bethesda had the rights to a...

Bethesda Vs. Black Isle: Sex, Brats, And Addiction

Your fecal analogy is painfully inappropriate and almost gives me a headache just to read. We are talking about interactive media intended for viewing here and viewing a very small portion will never give you an idea of the whole picture. You are basically saying, its ok to judge a book by...

    1UP interview with Emil

I never got the impression that the Enclave had to go "back" to DC.. by pure logic I would imagine that they originated there, and that if they didn't, there would be a lot of valuable government materials/contingency plans/technology in nuclear-proof bunkers stored there... like in the real...

Fawkes was awesome, Dr. Zimmer was an asshole. Also Tenpenny, I hated that guy.

Questions about FEV in Fallout 3

You guys do know that Fallout: POS isn't canon right? Whatever happened in that game is pretty much irrelevant. Bethesda doesn't consider it canon and neither did the Van Buren devs.

    1UP interview with Emil

I think NMA would have hated Fallout 3 no matter what Bethesda did. The way people here think about things blows me away sometimes! Also it blows me away that there's people here who actually think the Enclave would have had no presence at all in the Washington DC area. It was the central...

Bethesda Vs. Black Isle: Sex, Brats, And Addiction

If you actually did un-install the game at that point then you have no right to criticise a game you never really played.

Songs that should've been in Fallout 3

Sorry guys I got mixed up, its A Kiss To Build A Dream On they did not include. It would have been a good addition given its the Fallout 2 intro music, although I think the sound track is excellent as it is. Modern rock type music in Fallout 3? There would be legions of people complaining...

Fallout 4- doesn't have to be incremental, chronologically

I don't think Fallout 3 was more primitive than Fallout 2 at all.. I think that it really varied depending on the community. The larger communities with scientists etc seemed to be thriving, developing state-like structures as well akin to the NCR (Commonwealth and its androids etc. for...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

That wasnt my point. You said they don't play well in third person mode... I am saying, no shit they don't because they weren't designed to be played in third person mode.
