Fallout 3: Are you getting it?

There won't be any difficulty; Bethsoft has to make sure copies are available, everywhere, or they'll lose massive amounts of money. So "difficulty?" Nope. Also: "I'm going to buy *a* Fallout game so they make a *good* Fallout game" is exactly the kind of thinking that killed off the Van...

Fallout 3 guide creation #5: Quests

You mean compared to the original FO3 screen shots? (Not being sarcastic, truly confused here.)

Will Fallout 3 get a review from NMA?

It should be judged based on the totality of the original Fallout games. I've seen precious few direct Fallout 3-to-Van Buren comparisons; those that have popped up have only been to compare the cheeseball storyline to that of VB's possible storyline; not without its share of goofiness...

    Post I.T. interviews Todd Howard

ZeniMax's deep pockets and ties to various entertainment industries. ZM's board of directors is a "who's who" of bland mass-marketed pablum makers. The board thinks of Fallout 3 like they think of the movies that quite a few of them have backed before: If they can get the initial sales to be...

    Edge Online interviews Tim Cain

That's the "politics" Grey Ghost was just talking about. You can't potentially piss off people from whom you may be asking for a job, or their friends, especially in the relatively tight world of video game developers. There are, after all, only a few medium-to-large dev houses, fewer that...

    Fallout 3 review: PSM3

Not tell you where to spend your money or how to be "old and cynical anyways," but it seems like it'd just be easier- both for your sanity and your pocket book- to just not buy any game that comes along with the slightest resemblance to a sub-genre you like. I mean, I bought this horrible...

No, to put a steak through the heart of any Stephanie Meyers fan who might happen by. Works great on goth kids too.

Yes, mini games. The hacking minigame (for Computer skill) and lockpicking minigame (for picking locks) have been confirmed for many months now. They're going to be very irritating. Err... for those who will play the game.

Fallout 3 reviews: OXM UK, Level, Score, GMC, PC Gamer

Yes, that Twilight. Count yourself blessed, Per, that you don't live in a country where a sexually repressed author sells millions of books about sexually repressed vampires that sparkle (yes, I'm serious) that sells to a whole generation of awkward and (you guessed it) sexually repressed kids...

    Turn based!

Arcanum did exactly the same thing. It was incredibly annoying. I'd say, just don't do it. All the systems I've played where a company's tried to implement a 'regenerating action points' system like that never really worked well in RT. You always end up getting wailed on by enemies because...

QFT. I've been feeling that way quite a while myself. Even though I don't like RT cRPGs that much (though Morrowind was very boring) I couldn't care less if you like those games or not. Just as long as they stay the hell out of the Fallout series.

Fallout 3 guide creation #3: Training Chapter Overview

Wow... so even Bethsoft's guides have bugs in them? Also: ugly, ugly textures; jaggies everywhere. And these still look like zombies, not FO ghouls. But I guess I should expect it, what with Bethsoft's habit of recycling *everything* from Oblivion.

Fallout 3 Review: Official Xbox Magazine

I should really watch what I say. I'm definitely not arguing about the mindless ghoul thing. Yes, there were mindless ghouls in FO1/2. Problem? Non-existent. The issue is how they look. Not what the game calls them. Only what they look like. Oh, and how fast they move too.

Fallout 3 Review: Official Xbox Magazine

Cool, someone responded. Here we go: Right, but here's the difference: Budget and (supposedly) graphics engine superiority. When a BIG part of Beth's defense of the game, after it's been shown that, no, they're not keeping to the lore, is "It looks great." Well..no. That's why...

In that way, I agree with Section8. Even about Daggerfall. My gaming buddy, who's probably played more games than I ever will, and who has worked (is working?) as a coder and game tester for some awfully big companies, played Daggerfall when it was still fairly new, before Morrowind came out...

    CanardPC's almost-review

Um... har har? The French don't hate Americans. At least not the French people I've met. They're harsh on Fallout 3 because it doesn't stick to the roots. Interviews and design docs abound, so no reason to go into this again. But... but... the number three?!? How can something be a...
