Fallout 3 dev diary: level design

Ah. So it's actually one-half of what I was talking about that's in, and one half that's out. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Still sucks that the random encounters are out. And it definitely would've been better to just keep the overhead map. Oh. I thought you had an...

Fallout 3 dev diary: level design

I ignored the other one because I don't trust betamonkey. Ausir has been a big part of the Fallout community for years, helped a LOT with the Fallout wiki, and has an NDA-ed insider at Bethsoft telling him what the game really is like. What's betamonkey got? Less, I'd assume. So, yes, I did...

Knew it. Feared it. Just one more notch, know what I mean....

[SPOILERS] Super Mutants in Fallout 3

Well, since Bethesda's ret-conned the ghouls to be able to run.... I suppose Harold actually ran to DC. Which still doesn't make much sense, considering that FO3 is supposed to take place about 30 years after FO2. I doubt any ghoul would be able to make it across the continent that...

Fallout 3 dev diary: level design

Re: yeah Personally, I think it would've worked just fine if they'd implemented a system much more like the overhead map of Fallout 1/2: A tiny (plus-shaped) representation of your character walking across the Wastes, with time passing. I don't like fast travel on principle in a game...

Fallout 3: Are you getting it?

I already wasn't going to, now I'm even moving away from the idea of renting the game. Good job Bethsoft, you turned away someone who was REALLY looking forward to Fallout 3 based on the (now rather old) promo video, all based on what you did to the Fallout world.

[SPOILERS] Super Mutants in Fallout 3

Hoooollllyyyyyyy shit. How is it possible to be let down any more about this game?!? How? HOW? Bethsoft did it. Somehow, they managed to make me want the game less- as if they just dropped a metaphorical singularity right into the spot in my brain that says "Hey, give it a chance, what harm...

Fallout 3 Review: Official Xbox Magazine

Thank you Texas Renegade. I often disagree with you, but I know that you have an actual point of view, and will back up your opinions with evidence. *Looks at Billionfold* Mmmm???????

    CanardPC's almost-review

That's an incredibly weak excuse. Remember that thing I typed up in the other thread? The one where you said "Oh gee, ALL those things are MAJOR problems for you?" all intelligent-like? I didn't copy-paste that. I did it from memory, which is why it only covers part of what I don't like...

*sigh* Nice try on the redirect. As Pope Viper said, put up or shut up.

Fallout 3 Review: Official Xbox Magazine

Oh my, where to begin: -Copy/pasted damage on buildings (this was covered months ago). -VATS slo-mo probably can't be turned off (not confirmed, yet, but it seems that way) -Ghouls look like zombies, and can move fast now. No longer are they greenish flaky-skinned slow movers. -Super...

Let's lay off the noob, 'kay everyone? Not like the hivemind that is NMA (*giggle*) needs any more bad rep. And this isn't constructive. I mean, we've got a good number of posters here who began as *ardent* Fallout 3 defenders, and are now, if not fully convinced that the game's going to be...

Bethesda hunting down Fallout 3 leak

The Euro reviews that have come in, so far, are from reviewer's copies that were sent across the Atlantic. Apparently they're not the gold version- BN says that's industry standard, I personally don't know- but they are *legit* copies. Not boots, not stolen from... wherever those YouTube...

Fallout 3 launch party Oct 18th

Friends and friends of friends, Hollywood connections (Bruckheimer, et al), piles of cash put into the game, and just an excuse to throw a big bash, really. Such gatherings aren't that unusual in that sector of the local population- it's just that this one happens to revolve around the launch...

Bethesda hunting down Fallout 3 leak

Mmm.... Based on the spoilers- from the pirated videos- it doesn't. I've said this in another thread, but it all sounds like a badly written Silver Age Sci-Fi story, only with lots of violence and pointless cursing added in because it's "cool" and makes it "adult." So, now that we have 1)...

Fallout 3 launch party Oct 18th

Nope. ZeniMax plunked becoux bucks into this li'l release... they're going to party hard as hell, if only for the "Whistling past the grave" angle... Y'know: post-leaked videos, lots of people being massively underwhelmed by the game so far, it doesn't look like as massive a hit as it could...

    Gametrailers.com videos

Ah, there's also something else I wanted to mention. It's been mentioned before, so I think that's why I sort of edited myself before posting: "Crippled Head" and "Crippled Torso" messages. They don't make any sense. What else can I say? I groaned when I saw that come up on the screen.

    Gametrailers.com videos

I watched the first two videos.... Oh man, where to begin? -The textures are still ugly as hell.... Anyone else groan a bit looking at the Capital Building? -Gibbing and rag-doll physics. Just... shouldn't have been there in the first place; looks terrible. -The walking animations of...

    Gametrailers.com exclusive Fallout 3 footage

Well, everyone here who's been around for even a few months is getting a bit tired of new folks coming by and saying "Wow I can't wait to play this game", usually accompanied by "You people (NMA) are living in the past, Bethsoft's doing a great job, get with the times, ISO's dead," and a...
