There's more to journalism than exposure and therein is my criticism. Personal opinion is almost unavoidable, but I think mainstream media deliberately uses it. I don't think the media likes Wikileaks, because it produces the "truth" for them. If only there were more serious journalists.

Firstly, why should Assange's indiscretions be interesting? He's a douchebag/arsehole who managed to piss off two unrelated women in a short time span to the point where they pressed (poorly backed) charges. It's a good thing he's not a proper journalist so I don't hear his opinion in a leak...

I have a relative in the party. Apparently the first thing they talk about is personal needs; friends or family needing employment and stuff like that. It sounds more like a criminal network than a government.

They've provided change already by publishing this material; that's the point; that we don't really know what happens in international politics and war. The average joe either has his senses deadened from constant rhetoric or finds some marginal view on an internet blog that is often ridiculous.
