    Combat skills in FO3

Well, there is the issue of availability. A good sword is a hard thing to make, and a bad sword isn't better than an axe or a sledge hammer, items which actually could have a practical use outside of combat, spears can be used for hunting, etc.

Silent Storm arrives on 31 Oct in UK

I'm looking forward to this game, it looks like the best turn-based squad tactics game since Jagged Alliance 2 (not that there's been much competition).

    Care to elaborate a bit?

    Favorite minigun in Fallout 2

Interesting site, that Croatian "rifle" is insane! I wouldn't mind a large caliber sniper rifle in a future title myself, but considering that might mean that enemies could use them as well makes me think twice about it.

    Intro

Hmm, the intro is an important part of the game for sure, since it sets the mode as well as giving the newcomers some idea of what kind of world it is. I really think it's time for Ella Fitzgerald to be given the Fallout nod, but can't really think of a song right now, since I don't know...

    Save-Load System

Limiting the ability to save seems like the poor solution of making a game more difficult. Perhaps by removing some of the randomness that plagued the previous games would be a better way to lower the reload impulses. More explicity, they should change the way Steal works, since I imagine that...

    Race, ethnicity, nationality?

I don't know if ethnicity will be as importan in a world where you have ghouls and mutants. Frankly, I'd think that even a white supremacist would see more of a connection between him and a black man, than between himself and a hideous ghoul. When it comes to customizing your character's look...

    Fog of war

Agree about the fog, disagree on the haze issue. Personally, I rather enjoy not knowing what is hiding behind the corner. It should be disabled for non-hostile towns though.

    BIS forum tidbits

Damn, they know my weak spot. Now I'll spend countless of time just trying to figure out what kind of hat goes best with the leather armor. I also think that quality and replayability is more important than length of the game. A game that is too long, might even be less tempting to play again...

    J.E. Sawyer on combat

While I'd certainly like to see a RPG of Fallout's caliber with the turn-based goodness of ToEE, I guess I'll have to settle for a good roleplaying game with decent turn-based. Just like the original Fallout.

    Paperdoll/Armor Slots in Fo3

The piecemetal idea was scrapped I believe, except for body and head. More slots seem fairly pointless anyway.

    Sawyer on armour

Personally, I find the idea of armor that restricts your movement pretty ludicrous in the age of firearms.

    InXile acquires Wasteland

What's this, Brian Fargo getting a license he actually intends to do something worthwhile with?

Vault people and items in the wasteland

Where did you find this DU? The guy's a "gun nut" and doesn't know the difference between .50 AE and .50 BMG?

    new critters

Deathclaws should definitely be restored to their proper place at the top of the food chain. Maybe even a few variations of them would be in order. When it comes to freak mutations, the designer could come up with some creative and unique monsters.

    Sawyer time

I think the general idea is that the character is a real life Fonzie.

    Sawyer time

I actually like the idea of being able to punch a door, Fonzie style, and having it open. I'd also like to be able to use brunt force, especially if I have a crowbar, to open simple doors and crates. I'm not keen at all on the idea of merging Melee and Throw, it seems like combat focused...
