Tried it with remapping the keys? I changed it to the Fo3 / FoNV settings. Edith: Just realised, was talking nonsense. You cant change the view mode, mixed it up with something else, sorry. havent played it since release day ;)

You can rebuild you character, right before you take the elevator up to the surface. If you know that, than you can create a savegame there. It's like leaving the vault tunnel in Fallout 3.

Doing a new playthrough in New Vegas and gonna check out Wasteland 2. Was laying around in my Steam lib, didn't get around to really get into it.

I'm pretty sure, it depends on how you play it. Of course it could be very slow pased, if you decide to do side quests or just wander off and explore stuff.
