Escapist Magazine calls Bethesda killers of Fallout

Just to clarify, I understand and agree with what you guys are saying. The bolded part of the above quote was me acknowledging that the discussion over the original games doesn't compare to the heat Bethesda's games have caused. That sounds ideal. Isn't it possible for things to be like that...

Escapist Magazine calls Bethesda killers of Fallout

I'm blinded by nostalgia? I'm only stating a direct cause and effect correlation, nothing more. [Bethesda released Fallout 3] -> [I discovered Fallout 1]. I personally am grateful for that because I had a great time playing FO1 and FO2. And yeah, the Monopoly game doesn't mention New Vegas. It...

Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

It won't go free to play. It makes no sense for it to go free to play. I'm so confident that it won't happen that if it does, I will never make another post on this website. As of now, there are no pay to win items in the store. Cosmetics only. If a video claimed otherwise, it was clickbait.

Escapist Magazine calls Bethesda killers of Fallout

Ok, but Fallout 3 is the reason I discovered Fallout. My friend rented a copy of Fallout 3 from Blockbuster in early 2009, more than a decade after Fallout 1 came out. I'd never heard of the series before that. Even if you consider the game to be a husk or a cuckoo bird, I'll stand by my belief...

lawbringer perk bug - every npc leaves a finger

Very true. I have never used the Fallout 3 unofficial patch because I never really ran into any game-breaking bugs, and the changes seemed to do a lot of unnecessary things.

The concept of "show, don't tell" in RPG's

True, I didn't understand your original idea until just now. Hmm...can't recall if anything like that has been done before, someone would have to put something like that into a game and see how it feels compared to reading notes and journals

What are the best things? (recommendations thread?)

If anyone is a fan of space-based sci-fi and looking for a good TV show to watch I would recommend Farscape. Too bad they took it off Netflix.

What happens if you eat your father ?

The game never lets you directly encounter his corpse and he's an essential character up until his death. If you use console commands to phase through the wall to reach his corpse or make him non-essential, then you can cannibalize his corpse just like any other.

lawbringer perk bug - every npc leaves a finger

So this post is over 3 years old but I'll answer it in case it helps someone on the internet at some point. The most likely cause of this bug would be that the Lawbringer perk has been modified or bugged. A much less likely possibility is that every NPC has been modified or bugged to have evil...

    Making a V.A.T.S Oriented Character

The only AP related perk/item I used was Grim Reaper's Sprint, and that perk made me feel like I had infinite AP 90% of the time. I'm sure your idea would work.

    Play Fallout 76 because...

I see, makes sense. Thanks for the detailed answers. Edit: Regarding "The world only moves forward when you interact with it, instead of the world feeling like is its own entity", is this not also the case in Fallout 1 and 2? I can't recall any instances of the world moving forward without me...

Isn't this superficially like Fallout 1 except without an Overworld map? What separates the two games for you - the content of the points of interest and the story that ties them together, the character and the gameplay?

    Play Fallout 76 because...

@Gizmojunk I've never seen a game with a server maximum of 32 be classified as an MMO, but I have played dying MMOs with only 5 people on the server, so I suppose we can call 76 an abortion of an MMO that immediately died upon its birth, especially since it got vomited out after Interplay lost...

    Play Fallout 76 because...

I'll admit I dont know anything about how nukes work or the effects of nuclear fallout. I should've said "DC could've been heavily targeted in the war". Maybe it was some chemical weapon that poisoned the ground for hundreds of years. The point I wanted to make is Fallout 3 is not the indicator...

Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

SWTOR was originally a buy-to-play + a $15 monthly subscription. They realized their model was failing and added a free version and a microtransaction shop, but the free account still has a ton of annoying restrictions. Most can be lifted by spending money. There are also expansions that you...

A multiplayer online game. "A massively multiplayer online game is an online game with large numbers of players, typically from hundreds to thousands, on the same server." I haven't seen any competition for supplies or resources. In a worst case scenario, you hop servers. I've encountered...

    Play Fallout 76 because...

I like some things about it and greatly dislike others. I want to finish the game before making a final opinion. Most of my enjoyment has come from the person I'm playing with rather than the game itself, but the game is what's providing that space for me to play in, so it still gets some...

    Play Fallout 76 because...

With 76, it's about managing expectations. Nobody seemed to know what the game is supposed to be, due to horrible advertising. Agreed, but Fallout 76 isn't an MMO. Fallout 76 actually does everything it can to discourage people from engaging in PvP, short of removing the option from the game...

Reviews can often be biased and convey misleading or false information, so I don't think they're a substitute for firsthand experience. The only way to maximize your hatred to 100% is to play the game. As for X-2, clearly you gentlemen aren't sophisticated enough to appreciate the emotional...

Worst Fallout Game? What are your opinions?

Ohh, yes I misunderstood. True, I noticed it as well: - Kylo Ren takes multiple blows from a lightsaber and he's fine, just gets a little scar on his face. - Finn takes an entire blow across his back and he's fine, no mention of it again. - Rey has yet to take any hits from a lightsaber because...
