Fallout, Lore, Aliens, Easter Eggs, Bethesda and Mothershit Zeta

Aliens in FO1 are open to interpretation. Also, as I already said, even if log #17 is considered part of the game, its meaning is unclear. The soldier does not give the aliens the code, nor do the aliens launch any nukes in the log. It is ambiguous. I'm not defending Zeta, but I can't agree...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

As a Star Wars fan it's a terrible thing for me, personally, that Disney owns the franchise now. They deleted the entire Expanded Universe. All of the games and books that I grew up with are officially non-canon, and the trash that Disney pumps out is considered "canon". I hate it. So I can...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

This link is pretty clear about the Fallout Bible being non-canon. Straight from Chris himself. It was meant as a guide to help the devs create Van Buren. Bethesda can refer to it for help and even canonize parts of it, but that doesn't mean the entire document is iron clad canon.

Fallout, Lore, Aliens, Easter Eggs, Bethesda and Mothershit Zeta

If you can say that Fallout 1 and 2's wasteland encounters are not really part of the game, and there's no proof that they actually happened - even though they are technically part of the game - then I think some leniency should be given to some of the more questionable parts of Fallout 3 as...

Fallout, Lore, Aliens, Easter Eggs, Bethesda and Mothershit Zeta

This is false, and a very common misconception within the Fallout fanbase. Nowhere in Mothership Zeta does any such implication get made at any point. Holotape #17 had its dialogue removed before the DLC launched specifically to avoid fans getting this implication. Since it's cut content...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Some use headcanon to fill plot holes or justify poor writing, others use it to ignore things that they don't like. Both things are fine to do.

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Rivet City was founded in 2239, but that's still only 38 years before the start of the game. I'm having issues finding when Megaton was founded. But it's true, most settlements in the area seem to be relatively recent and/or have no history to speak of. I agree that the lack of development...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

It seems a great thing about Fallout is how much discussion and debate it can spawn. The fans are very passionate on all sides and if the answers were all laid out in an obvious way, there would be nothing to talk about. The 200 year timeframe for Fallout 3 is pretty bad at first glance. They...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

Fallout 1 manual: "Kit includes a Basic Replicator Unit. Just add water" Fallout Bible 6: "The GECK isn't really a replicator, it just contained seeds" Fallout 2: "A GECK is the resource for rebuilding civilization after the bomb. Just add water and stir." Fallout Bible 6: "The tribals were...

Ran into a funny/scary graphics glitch - see pictures

:rofl:LOL that video is great. Looks like TCL console command is enabled so I guess the bug must have something to do with rendering limbs + collision/havoc engine

Oh, I didn't know it was a common bug for their engine, that was my first time seeing it

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

@Risewild I really thought the Master planned to eradicate anyone that wouldn't take a dip in the vats. I will have to replay Fallout 1. As for the rest of the post, thanks for taking the time to write out all of that for me. You make some good points. The examples you listed of Fallout 3...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

RE: GECK, a "Base Replicator Unit" powered by cold fusion that "replicates" food and basic building items by just adding water sounds different than a box of dried food... It's true, the people don't NEED purified water in Fallout 3, it's a luxury. Project Purity wasn't essential to saving all...

Fallout, Lore, Aliens, Easter Eggs, Bethesda and Mothershit Zeta

The dislike of Mothership Zeta may be the one thing that everyone on this site can agree on. Although, maybe not, since over on the Nexus there's a mod called Mothership Zeta Crew that has a sizable following and a bunch of spinoff mods.

Is the survival genre generating the same flood of games that battle royale is? I feel like there's a big difference between ARK and PUBG/Fortnite. Release Dates: Minecraft - May 17, 2009 Rust - December 11, 2013 7 Days to Die - December 13, 2013 ARK - Early access began mid-2015 Fallout 76 -...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

I could say that the Master just wants to make humanity either dead or transformed into Super Mutants, while the Enclave wants humanity to survive. It's dependent on what perspective you take. The fact that the Enclave can be sympathized with just like the Master's army proves they're not...

Rebuttal of Escapist's "Bethesda Killed Fallout" article

The author of the article was acting like the gratuitous gore was something that didn't exist in the originals, but that is a pretty cool gif you posted. I don't think the GECK was just an encyclopedia with seeds in FO2. I will have to replay the game, but if that were true then how does it...
