Which Fallout Game Functions Best As An RPG?

It's kind of a close call between New Vegas and Fallout 2 for me. I went with Fallout 2, though. I feel like there were more ways to deal with situations there than in New Vegas. Also, with some character builds you could just forget about some quests and/or areas. Also, this:

Does Anyone Really Care About VR?

I'm not at all interested in most first person games, and I don't see VR working for isometric cRPG's or strategy games. Maybe at some point there will be more possibilities for these kinds of games but at the moment I don't see why I would even bother with it. What I'm kind of worried about...

What games are we looking forward to?

Added Copper Dreams and No Truce with the Furies to my list. Maybe I'll also get into Endless Space 2. It's been a while since I've played a decent strategy game. And by a while I mean almost ten years maybe?

Fallout 4 went from Mostly Positive to Mixed in recent reviews

I dunno, people are pretty dumb. Next time they're dangling some keys in front of the audience along with a well thought out PR message of how they've "learned" from the last time people are probably still going to fall for it. This.

Fallout 4 went from Mostly Positive to Mixed in recent reviews

That's an accomplishment. Sadly, it doesn't seem to affect their revenue at all, so they'll probably shit out another title in a few years and repeat it ad infinitum. My point is that Fallout has been pretty much ruined by now, and we all know it (at least here on NMA) and instead on focussing...

Fallout 4 went from Mostly Positive to Mixed in recent reviews

Heh, I have this sort of morbid curiosity to check it out and see how bad it really is, but my PC couldn't possibly handle it, so I can't. Anyway, Bethesda has been in a steady decline over the past fifteen years, so really, I'm not all that surprised that Fallout 4 turned out to be so bad.

Best hobbies to pick up for the apocalypse?

Small guns, sneak, lockpick, metal working, carpentry, car mechanics and maybe get a donkey or some shit to carry your shit for when there are no cars around. Better work on your social skills as well, because if at all possible, like some have already mentioned, you just want to avoid violent...

Fallout 4 went from Mostly Positive to Mixed in recent reviews

I dunno, I don't like the direction Bethesda took the franchise in, but by now I feel like I kind of know that modern Fallout is bad, old school Fallout is good. It seems pointless to keep the whole "Bethesda ruined Fallout" shtick going because it's old news. Really old news. Then again, this...

Fallout 1 or 2: Which does NMA prefer?

Maybe get an irl savegame editor when it comes to that.

Who the fuck even cares at this point?

What games are we looking forward to?

Oh yeah, totally forgot about Tyranny. Although I've become a bit more sceptical of Obsidian after Pillars of Eternity.

What games are we looking forward to?

I was wondering what there is to look forward to. I try (and fail) to keep up with RPG news lurking the codex and sometimes actually engaging in discussions here, but I have to say that at the moment, there are very little games I am actually looking forward to at the moment. Has gaming hit a...

Fallout 1 or 2: Which does NMA prefer?

I may have voted for Fallout 2, but I think I might actually be more on the 50/50 side of things as well. Both games are genius in their own ways. I wish they could be combined into one super game. The atmosphere and story of 1, the expansive world and choice and consequence of 2 along with the...

Fallout 1 or 2: Which does NMA prefer?

Unpopular opinion here, I'm going with Fallout 2. While 1 had more atmosphere and a better story, the world of Fallout 2 had much more to offer. The whole Jet thing, the struggle for Redding, the New Reno families and of course Modoc were some really awesome areas and questlines to explore. The...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Finally got around to playing Age of Decadence. Loving it so far!

The Age of Decadence: Great RPG, or Greatest RPG ever made?

Yes, I've already got one uneasy alliance going on that will undoubtedly stab me in the butt later on. Oh well, I'll see how things unfold.

The Age of Decadence: Great RPG, or Greatest RPG ever made?

Yeah, I also just started with the game. Just made it into Maadoran, so I haven't had much time with it yet, but so far it's been pretty fun. Teron felt pretty straight forward, but I suppose things are going to become a lot more confusing soon. Anyway, looking forward to finishing the game...

    Elder Scrolls Six predictions

I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped skills altogether and went with the perk system like they did in Fallout 4. Story will be lame, probably. Questlines for factions will also be pretty silly, I guess. Lots of radiant quests too, probably, since they seem to have fully embraced that...

    Upcoming PC-exclusive RPGs

Add a few sub categories in your list to clear things up. I'm also only here for the true RPG's, if that's all right. What do you mean by Age of Decadence Dungeon Crawler? Do you mean the Colony Ship RPG Iron Tower Studios is working on or is there some AoD expansion coming up that I'm not...

    Underrail

Underrail is probably my favourite game of 2015 (although I have to say I haven't played Age of Decadence yet, so that might change at some point) and I would recommend it to anyone. I have never had so much fun with combat in any other game EVER. Choosing your build has also never been as...
