    Unofficial Age of Decadence FAQ

Actually, I believe Alchemy is going to a big improvement over Oblivion's system. In Oblivion each ingredient possessed some bonus intrinsically. So Alchemy was just a game of finding ingredients with the bonuses you wanted and poof! You have an invisibility potion. The AoD system is going...

Bethesda and the Star Trek fans

If NMA hasn't been black listed (yet?), I know the RPGCodex has (official excuse, there's swearing on the site). It be interesting to know if any other websites were put on the "blacklist".

Medieval 2 : total war demo. Really.

I like fileplanet, and I'm not a subscriber. Yes, you have to wait to begin your download, but after that I find they have the fastest download times of any of the usual suspects. Now, they have this download manager so I can pause in the middle of downloads if I want the bandwidth, and resume...

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

What? Do they not have football in Utah? He is clearly changing directions in a passing route in preperation for his father's pass. Anyways, after Oblivion I'm still very pessismistic about this game, but at least the poster shows some level of awareness that Fallout is the future of the...

    XBOX 360

At this point there is very little reason to buy a 360. There is a good chance the price will go down when PS3 is released, and if nothing else they will be readily available and maybe have changed manufacturing practices to reduce the occurence of slowdowns. In the meanwhile, they are still...

    RPGs for the stupid

Here is my humble contribution. I always thought the three different chapters were pretty disjointed, as my diagram clearly shows. That, and there were some veiled attempts to... well see for yourself.

    Best Books of All time?

I just have to say Catch-22 by Keller is simply amazing. Its a funny, dark, commentary on war and society. Then, its written achronologically, which is tremendous literary feat. If you haven't read, I think you haven't read the best novel written in the past 50 years, at least. Having Ayn...

Turkey and Europe to make a union?

What are you talking about? The ugly chicks are the Turkish chicks? I'm Greek by blood, does it show?

    Golden Joystick nomination for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I read a rumor somewhere on the internet that as they were finishing up the game and letting people playtested, they got negative results on how fun it was. So they started reworking it with stronger story and plot elements. Of Course, thats all just rumor and speculation.

Fallout in IGN's Top 100 Games

They haven't been posted yet, think of it as a cliff hangers during sweeps weak.

Fallout gunpowder: black powder or nitrocellulose?

Hmmm... I always pictured the majority of ammunition floating around the Fallout world as being the stock piles from before the war. Yes, I know the towns making their own gun powder, but still makes a lot of sense to me.

    Definitely no S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in 2005

Didn't a lot of people call Half Life 2 vaporware? But in the end, if you take the time to make your game as perfect as possible, you do end up with an excellent title.

    Interplay - Web presence restored?

Ummm... "Investor<san s> Relations"... does this means they only have one investor at this time? Are Herve's parents still alive, by any chance?

    Interplay - Web presence restored?

This means either... A. Interplay is going to be alright. B. It is a placeholder to announce an auction for intellectual property. C. Herve is practicing webdesign, something that can be done in a jail cell. D. God is at it again. E. The new webdesign took forever to load from an...

Interplay goes to file yet again

Nah, I'm sure somebody will melt the padlock down for scrap metal and sell it. Its sort of sad to see Interplay go down, though. It ultimately just means a larger market share for EA and whoever they manage to buy out.

    Success of Star Wars explained

No, not really. But I read this article from Slate and thought it made a pretty good argument. Namely, Hollywood studios try to create mega films that reap a ton of money, and what sort of common elements these mega films have in common. There are nine of them total. I found myself...

    Interplay update: 10-K filed

I don't know the specifics, but I think you are on the right track. Royalties are paid for every unit sold, or something like that. Usually by a publisher to a developer in this industry, but it applies here as well. Anyways, an advance is a lump sum of money that is paid to the recipient of...

    Interplay update: 10-K filed

I think its only a matter of time before EA gets exclusive rights to pillage the corpse of Interplay. Of course they'd do it out of habit before realizing their was nothing left to pillage. I mean, what IP does Interplay have left? Since I don't think they have any staff worth mentioning...

No Ron Perlman in Fallout 3?

I'm usually in support of unions asking for a bigger cut, but priorities people! What the voice actors provide for a game is such a small part, usually just a day or two of work. The grunts at the developer, however, work for a year or two at least during the development of a title. They are...
