    2005 Spring Break thread.

In my experience the large majority of college students just went home for Spring break, or worked. Those that do go to beaches are exceptions that make for better TV than a classics major washing dishes.

Bloodlust- 6, final. That belongs in an AOL message log, not an avatar. Marek- 6 for the nuclear warhead theme, +1 for being animated. 7 final. Per- 8, something truly old school which can't be bad. But, its a bit obscure in meaning. John Uglask- Looks line the figure on some...

    Guns for Terrorists-

Care to elaborate on this? Letting a ban on assault weapons expire seems to be an extreme example of loosening gun laws. For my part, I always believed the tougher it was for average honest Joe to get a gun, the tougher it was for "People I don't Want to Have Guns(tm)" to get them. So, I'm...

    T-Shirt Design Contest!

Thats the front design? I think modern thought on Tshirts is to have a subdued front with the larger picture being on the back. Maybe just a small NMA logo where a pocket would be, than stick that on the back. Like it, goes with the site theme, so it can't go wrong, per say.

    Pope Dies.....

No, a Pope can not change things as he sees fit. Now, some popes have held beliefs later thought to be heretical, the later powers just "clarify" the teaching. As for faking faith to get there, I seriously doubt it. In my experience holy people are like Highlander immortals, they can sense...

    Shiavo case

I am, but I find religion is rarely a good thing to bring up on a gaming forum. However, since the tone on this post and others have been civil, I'll glady try to respond to questions or topics.

    Any games like Fallout?

The closest you'll ever come to Fallout in execution is probably Arcanum, Troika's first attempt at a game. For obvious reasons they couldn't use special, but they did use something similar. Its also a steampunck game, not PA. Obviously, there is no game like Fallout ('cept Fallout 2), its...

Hmmm... loose the box with the smiley face and I think you'd have a pretty good shirt.

    Pope Dies.....

Oh, and baloney. There is only one pope at any given time, and while he is pope he is the most recongnizable person in the world. True, when one dies he is replaced quickly, but the different personalities and beliefs of popes can be felt through out history.

    Pope Dies.....

Here is a slate article naming some possible successors. It is also important to remember that the process isn't decided by pundits, its decided by an elite group of about 170 people who keep in touch with one another. They might pick somebody based on their reputation for holiness and mass...

    Pope Dies.....

As one of the faithful, this day has been expected for years now. So, I'm sort of numb to it, though I was a big fan... saw him twice! But there is a lot more at stake than just getting along with other religions. The reason any religion has a belief in the first place is because they think...

Calculon00- 6, it may be animated, it may be from Fallout... but three is just something uniquesly disturbing about that avatar. Lt. Col. Gonzalez- 8, you can't go wrong with a guy and a gun, can you? Melchoir, 8, not much originality, but its classic, and I like classic things.

Van Buren Lives? NOTE: Old April Fools Joke

Yeah, I figured it out pretty quickly. It just seemed to be an announcement of everything outrageous that could happen to the franchise. That, and it was just lacking that professional hype phrases that always come with such announcements. Not that I'd blame anybody for falling for it, its...

Where can I buy Fallout 1 or 2?

I'm sort of lucky in that I found the Dual Jewel of Fallout and Fallout 2 just sitting on a shelf at Best Buy. Thats also how I found Torment, man I love that Best Buy... Anyways, the Jewel doesn't include paper manuals, just the discs. I want to say, however, that the manuals are available in...

    Shiavo case

Just in to update this post with something everyone probably hear from other news services, Terri Schiavo has recently died. Let the litigation end, please. I get the feeling, though, we are in for some wrongful death suits.

I'd give it a seven myself. Yeah, its a funny sign, but what does how does it represent you as a poster? Are you the car or the falling sheep? Or are just the person driving past who saw the sign and contemplated it? Actually, your avatar is pretty deep. 9/10, Final. EDIT(note for...

    Jesus didn't go to school

Jesus didn't go to school, he spent his day working for his father and learning the family trade, in all likelyhood. If a kid doesn't go to school now a days, chances are they sit around and do nothing productive. I would also like to thing the school system allows for progressive levels of...

    Torment and Arcanum

I usually describe it as a spiritual successor to Fallout, though that probably isn't very accurate. There are a lot of similarities between the two RPGs, though Arcanum lacks Fallout's style. It is also incredibly unbalanced with melee combat being way overpowered and guns a masochist's...

Saint Proverbius is over at the RPGCodex, and thats about all I can tell you.

Location based death animations/real time rendered injuries

Localizing a gunshot wound is probably fairly easy. You just have to animate a puff of red. Beyond that, I'm sure it gets progresively harder. Anyways, a little off topic, but I think Fallout, even if they do go the FP route, needs to have death animations. The modern fp trend is rag doll...
