Why don't supermutants carry heavy weapons?

This is one of my main gripes with Fallout 3 on JUST a gameplay front, let's pretend that lore isn't even an argument to be had. On just a gameplay front, Super Mutants had a huge decline in their position. It used to be you had an EXTREMELY hard time tangling with them until you had at LEAST...

So ,should we hope that Fallout will die /stop?

I don't see why anybody should hope for it to die. I mean, yeah, annoying to find fans who had not experienced the old games, and I often have to find myself correcting them about the lore, but hey, I get it. Bethesda has a new audience, and likely much bigger than the classic Fallout fans. As a...

Well, I like the concept of there being a newspaper company. That implies a level of civilization. With 3Dog's radio station, it was really to anyone fortunate enough to actually have a radio. With newspaper, it requires a continuing source of news, getting the material to write a paper...

    Quakecon 2015: Fallout 4 details

While true, the other reason is because Fallout 3 was chosen to be many people's starting point. Fallout 3 essentially retells the Vault Dweller and Chosen One's story in the Lone Wanderer -- on the East Coast. So, it introduces the series to a new audience. It gets the familiar with some...

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

*No way in hell! Let's borrow Fallout 1 and Fallout 2's story, bash it with a hammer and stitch them back together and call it ours!

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

I'm wondering if Brotherhood are going to be the white knights again. I could probably tolerate their continued existence if they're actually somewhat closer real Brotherhood, but somehow I got a feeling they're going to be part of Lyon's brotherhood. odd though that the only bit we did see of...

Fallout 4 coming out on November 10, free mobile spin-off out now

I think I saw the original Enclave helmet on the power armor modification, rather than that ugly "Enclave Armor" from Fallout 3. So that's cool.

At the end of the day, the thing I care about most from Fallout is the lore and story, really. I'm mostly worried how Bethesda is going to knife the Brotherhood and Super Mutants even more.

Sure, but I also favor limitations. There's just far too many games that allow you access to near everything. Fallouts access tends to come from high intelligence, a lot of skillpoints. Fallout one with the lock on level 21 limits you a bit more, but, hell, high intel you still get a lot. Far...

That's not exactly ignoring how the game works, however. My point is it was still possible. But the idiot character does have some extra advantages, no charisma he can raise up his other combat-oriented stats if he needed to. Endurance, Agility, strength if he wants to go close combat...

I don't think I ever suggested not doing quests. I did say that it's probably faster hunt deathclaws, floaters and centaurs with the right equipment. Since you don't have to go from point A to point B to get experience, rather just find them.

I've already explained exactly what I was saying. I was saying for a roleplay experience, a intel 1 scientist isn't entirely likely. The 10 intel gifted character is, in fact, the master of everything. At this point, you're ignoring what I'm saying. I seemed to miss the part where you spoke...

I have a feeling someone with a low intelligence wouldn't be doing so in the first place. You could with a high intelligence. I admit, you can't champion everything in Fallout 2 with 1 intelligence, just not doable. When I was talking about mastering everything I was referring to those who...

Unless your character brought a chemistry set while traveling across California, then they're training very little. With a 1 intelligence, we're lucky they didn't try to eat the chemistry set. That comes into the question, "how is my character smart enough to work the chemistry set?" My point...

Within your game limitations, sure. Though I'm know sure how shooting Deathclaws and Centaurs is meant to make your character smarter in science, but regardless. My point was a drooling idiot who most people would shrug off and make you "shamble off" wouldn't be a scientist. Simple as that...

Maybe. But I feel part of roleplay is working within your limitations rather than mastering everything. If Fallout 4 did this way, I feel that it could actually work rather well. Of course, I'm not so sure they'll even follow my idea. It'll probably be something else entirely. Still, at the...

True, but it was still doable. Especially in Fallout 2 where there was no level cap. My example suggested that you would have to have SPECIAL requirement. Speech 1 would need at least 5 in Charisma. So, science 1 would need at least 5 in intelligence. That saying if you had 1 in...

I began to think, if this does go by perks in place of skills, from a roleplaying perspective, this could actually be a good thing. I mean, look at older Fallout games, you could have a 1 in intelligence and still have a 100 in science. That's... not doable. A drooling idiot like that wouldn't...

Well, that's why I said "as far as combat goes" Actually, if it's going to go by as perks, then it kinda reminds me of KotOR's feats. Also, I really wish people would quit saying it's like Mass Effect's dialogue system, it's not. Mass Effect follows a formula, information on the left, nice...
