    Recommended mod thread

Well, 'must have' varies from person to person. I would recommend Dread Dogmeat, Mart's Mutant Mod and ACE Cripple Effects no matter what. F3C has some very good bits (the xp system, ap use in real time, etc) but also some bad bits (like having food heal way too much, etc). I would recommend...

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

Loving this mod... Making AGI affect AP regen is great. The more you tie gameplay to the stats and skills, the better it will be for it. But please keep AP use in realtime play! It really is a very well designed system and you shouldnt scrap it. In fact, I tend to use my own compilation...

    Build a better Bush

Actually, McCain was highly critical of Bush tax cuts (saying the same things Dems do - that they benefit only a small percent of the population in any meaningful way and also that they are fiscally irresponsible) during their primary fights for the nomination and since. I figure he would...

Who is really to blame for the Holocaust?

Lots of people can be 'blamed' for WW2. Yes, the Treaty of Versailles was the "politics of hatred." Then again, if congress would have listened to Wilson, the US would have gotten into the League of Nations and overturned alot of the treaty's overly punitive aspects. Similarly, if Russia wouldnt...

Who is really to blame for the Holocaust?

Its pretty hard to blow the Holocaust out of proportion. Whole aspects of Nazi policy at home and abroad were dedicated at slaughtering Jews (look at some of the causes of their defeat in Russia - many attribute some of it to focusing on funneling Jews to Aushwitz rather than strengthening troop...

    Van Buren news in PCZone

I actually perfer the mobile science lab. Being able to carry all other vehicles and infinite stuff seems kinda cheezy. The player should have a finite amount of stuff he can carry in the wasteland. Also, the mobile science lab thing just has more personality and helps make Macgyver characters...

    Van Buren news in PCZone

Wow, I really like how you guys approached vehicles there. Each one seems to reflect how a particular player might approach the game - the loner, the wandering scientist, the traveller, etc. That is another great way to have the player define the character.

    The Kerry Doctrine

Actually, Kerry was very much in favor of action against Saddam well before 2001 and since. He repeatedly called for increased attempts to fund insurgencies against Saddam and increased international pressures with regards to inspections. Im not sure why Kerry voted against action in the first...

    The Kerry Doctrine

Actually, the US has always been slow to enter military conflicts. The most unpopular wars have always been those that have been looked upon as unnecessary. If Germany would not have asked Mexico to invade, Wilson would not have put us on a war footing in WW1. Even in WW2 AFTER Pearl Harbor...

    The Village (No spoilers)

Stupid little twists are great. I have been a fan of them ever since watching old Twilight Zone reruns as a kid. Still, the reception to this movie has been pretty lukewarm (1 star from Ebert!). I am thinking rental.

Sharpton at the Con vetion- the black vote

Im not going to get into this with you.

Sharpton at the Con vetion- the black vote

I wouldnt go that far. Social stigmas are part of the issue but not all of it. Shapton certainly presents another perspective. I dont hate Sharpton for his blame the man perspective. Its valid. I dislike Sharpton for his actions. He has incited bloody antisemtic riots and falsely accused people...

    King Arthur flicks

I voted for Excalibur but, in truth, Monty Python did it best.

    what are you reading

Im in the middle of A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. I plan on hitting The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, rereading a couple chapters of Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward and revisiting some scifi classics I havent read in a while (like Haldeman's Forever War).

Sharpton at the Con vetion- the black vote

He shouldnt have shouted so much. He tried to talk above the crowd and it reduced the impact of his speech. Also, I kinda dont like him. Obama was a far better speaker. He said the same thing in a far more positive way. Not to mention, if you knew about Sharpton, how he lied about some policeman...

    No More Moore!

I do not need it explained to me. I am well aware of all the neet little euphamisms our military likes to use. I was trying to underscore the fact that no matter what you call it, more than likely over 3000 missles (not pounds, MISSLES) were well off target. Please, semantic arguements are very...

    No More Moore!

I went to that link. The guy makes some good points but a good 4-6 of his criticisms are blatantly overblown or nitpicks. The only ones that really stuck with me were the unfairness of Moore's treatment of Heston. The guy makes a strong case there. Also, criticisms of Bowling aside, I would...
