hmmm... After you've bought Clover the first time you should never need a karma check again to recruit her. Seems odd that you've had one. I can recruit her back with my "Very Good" Character. Bit strange really. In my experience she's the only character that doesn't need to re-do her...

Its strange, i haven't been able to get Companions to use any weapons other than their basic gear without giving them ammo. They do loot ammo themselves which may be the cause.

They all have melee weapons, its just most of them are Rubbish. They need ammo for any gun other than their standard weapon. Really. Im not sure why but it does. I have Charon & Jericho with me at the moment because of doing this.

If you enhance his growth you get a magical hood of Agility+1 and Stealth+10, an Outcast PA of Big Guns+5, and a Talisman of Speech+10.

Companions will use the best weapon available that they have ammo for, not always taking into consideration weather they are actually good with the weapon. I cant imagine why you would want to give Charon anything else though. His Combat Shotgun is ridiculous. You can open up another slot...
