How excited are you for Fallout 4?

Yes. While I am on the fence about the dialogue -- I can see ways this might benefit the series in the future, but I can also see how it could hurt the RPG aspect -- I never really found the skill system "as we've always had it" to be all that compelling anyway, and it was frankly far too...

How excited are you for Fallout 4?

And what's wrong with casualization? It's not like it's going to kill the series if more and more people can play it without feeling overwhelmed -- in point of fact, that can only help it so long as they don't go too far. I don't think they've done that yet.

How excited are you for Fallout 4?

Hear, hear! I'm so hyped I can't even play Fallout 3 and New Vegas anymore after seeing the E3 demo! Fallout 4 looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more engaging and fun!

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

What you suggested is basically stifling creativity. You just can't see it because you're a hipster. Look, don't get me wrong -- I *love* the original series. It's excellently-made and holds up rather well all these years later. That being said, they have NOT made me feel like I was actually...

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

The thing is though, retcons happen all the time, and not just to Fallout. It's the one problem with fictional universes in general; their histories are always subject to minor (or major) changes depending on the stories that the writers want to tell. To have a fictional universe free of...

    Bethesda's Fallout 4: Continuity Breaker

It's quite possible that the T-60 was a prototype developed right after the T-51b, so much more advanced that it warranted a radical acceleration in number designation. It's also equally likely, that the T-60 was never taken out of prototype phase before the Great War broke out.

So Our Protagonist Is Over 200 Years Old

It's either cryogenics or some other form of suspended animation. Note that when interacting with Codsworth the Sole Survivor says "I wasn't out THAT long." In the USA, "out" is used as slang for "asleep."

How to rip classic Fallout sprites?

That's the one I'm using. Oh. My. God. It's fantastic. :D It's giving me bmp's though, which are even better than .gif! It's gonna be a LONG process, and sadly it doesn't export transparencies (or does it? If it does, I'm gonna be pissed lol, that'd save me a lot of time) so I'm using MS Paint...

How to rip classic Fallout sprites?

I have. F1 Dat Explorer and DatExplorer are the only ones that came close to working as I'd hoped they would. I haven't tried to extract anything with these two yet. Ok, decided to use those... which FRM viewer/converter would you recommend? I can't find "frm2bmp" anywhere.

How to rip classic Fallout sprites?

I have, but almost none of them seem to work for me, and nearly all of them are segregated by F1 or F2. I'm on Windows 7, if that makes any difference in recommendation. DAT Explorer doesn't support the Master.dat and Critters.dat of Fallout 1, but does support Fallout 2... isn't it supposed to...

Winrar works? What about 7zip? EDIT: Just tried 7zip, and that didn't work...

How to rip classic Fallout sprites?

As mentioned in another thread (that was about backgrounds), I'm working on a Fallout sprite comic series but first I'll need assets. While I've got a FOnline 2238 mapper up and running and I'm quickly learning how to use that, I'm hoping to be given directions (or a tutorial) on what programs...

Mapper and Steam Fallout 2 -- any way to make them work?

Thanks for the advice; any particular version of FOnline you can suggest for me? I assume they all have different mappers. I got the Fallout 2 mapper working but for some strange reason when I try to place tiles, they don't show up. :-/ EDIT: Never mind, I found a standalone FOnline 2238...

This is why I prefer New Vegas. Why or why dont you?

I prefer New Vegas because not only is it the first Fallout game I was ever exposed to, it's also the one modern Fallout that most resembles the classics in terms of setting, characters, and world design. It's also incredibly fun and has awesome replay value, especially with all the mods for it. :D

Are shots to testicles really funny?

For the person pulling the trigger, maybe. For the poor bastard who just got emasculated -- hell no.

Mapper and Steam Fallout 2 -- any way to make them work?

Basically I wanna make Fallout sprite comic fan fiction, using the mapper to create backgrounds. Thing is, I have only the Steam version of Fallout 2 (which lately seems to come with an official version of the high-res patches, same as the other classic Fallout games). Is there any way to get...
