    CanardPC's almost-review

I always compare game journalists to sports writers in your local newspaper. Generally speaking they have a preconceived position or interest and only buck that when something truly astounding happens or the situation drastically changes. Such as the do no wrong football coach suddenly...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

Woah Woah Woah--I totally agree that numbers are extremely important in a game. I am merely saying that I think Emils comment was meant to say that if the numbers are done poorly or not balanced, that it doesn't matter how many numbers you have. I was trying to say that I don't think he was...

They do the same thing with most every industry when they premier something new. When a car company is having a big new Car design premier they do the same thing. The movie industry is far worse. Sports teams do it all the time to the media Politicians as well. Its nothing new...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

LOL wow and wow, I guess its time to destroy whatever good will I had yesterday:): Lets see where to begin, guess I will start with the todd qoute: "2) we have a setting that dramatically reduces the damage the player takes during such an occurrence." Ok, way too much is apparently...

we do know that you can miss in VATS. so 3 is inaccurate. But it is a good basic idea of things.

Fallout 3 dev diary: level design

Well, yeah I was switching the settings of the games around. I don't have an issue with wishing the game design was different, but in the actual setting of the game, there isn't any room for desolation. Now, if they had stuck some huge random generated wasteland on the outer edges of the...

Fallout 3 dev diary: level design

well, I think people forget to consider the difference in scale between this game and previous games. For comparison sake: FO1 and 2 took place along the entire eastern seaboard, whereas FO3 takes place in the LA Boneyard. Its just you get to explore every nook and crany of LA Boneyard.

That was my point. He was expecting quality dialogue in FO3, he wasn't expecting it in FC2. You comment on what ussually surprises you for good or for bad. Of course, it could be totally horrible, but those who have seen the leaked stuff have said it isn't bad, some have even said the...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

Hey, in a combat engine, I like the design philosophy he is espousing. I think his idea about VATs and difficulty wasn't that you use the levels to fix it from being broken, but that if you don't want to use VATs, you can lower the difficulty level to a more forgiving setting for the FPS...

    Polish Click! review

Cool review: on the reasons--I am thinking far cry got the higher score, because he was surprised to see the dialogue in a shooter, whereas I am guessing the dialogue in FO3 was kind of what he was expecting. But I like, good and bad reviews. The idea that he liked the atmosphere I like...

Don't worry, I am sure it is merely a momentary fever and I will be saying things to make you disagree with me again.

Bethesda tires of spending money to support pirates

yes damm those greeks and their murdering pirate ways. Seriously though you knew exactly which pirates I was referring to. And the stuff that comes with the game is easy enough to get ahold of. Heck most information from a instruction booklet, can be read in any Faq somebody puts up about...

Fallout 3 Review: Official Xbox Magazine

I'll try. I want to play the game because there are other aspects about the game that interest me and do excite me. From the limited footage I saw, I think the vault and the escape from the vault look to be fairly well done. The animations don't bother me. The limited dialogue trees that...

    CanardPC's almost-review

Billionfold, seriously I am looking forward to the game, but there is nothing at all wrong with expecting a sequel to continue along the same lines as the originals. Actually it is downright perfectly logical to expect a sequel to build on the originals. Beth is taking a different approach...

    CanardPC's almost-review

I don't think it is quite that. It is more the problem with the way they develope games. The "not spending much time on concept developement and just start making the game piecemeal" is a really poor way to design anything. Its like making a boat. Todd decides that he wants to put a giant...
