    Fallout 3 patch 1.4 hits Xbox/GfW Live

So we're getting a new weapon (other than the Autoaxe) - the Infiltrator - a scoped and silenced assault rifle. I wonder if it will be anything like the scoped and/or silenced assault rifles that modders have been making for months? Ten buck for the Pitt or nothing for this lovely piece of...

    Role Playing in the Wastes

You don't understand how words work. A word's denotation is its strict dictionary definition while its connotation is its secondary or implied meaning that supplements its primary definition. When applied to computer and pen-and-paper games, the term "roleplaying" goes far beyond its denotation.

    Fallout 3 vs. others

All the best games are old games. Wonderful turn-based RPG: Fallout Amazing real-time RPG: Daggerfall Superb real-time-with-pause RPG: Baldur's Gate Incredible point-and-click adventure game: Sam and Max Painfully great turn-based strategy: Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space I'll stop there.

so... anyone try the DLC yet?

From my own experience, O:A is five dollars of fun and substance in a bloated ten dollar package.

Fallout 3 The Pitt - First Details Revealed

I think the moral alignment of the Regulators depends on whether or not you prefer dangerous freedom or draconian safety.

    Entry Point: Get Disposition

Bethsoft's GECK website describes the "Get Disposition" entry point as "Run when an actor is calculating their disposition to the player" with the effect of "Modifies the normally calculated disposition." I've tried to use this entry point to add something like the Presence perk into the game. I...

I hope they don't look like stupid questions... but...

Re: i hope this doesn't like stupid questions... but... I don't have too much experience with all of the GECK's functions yet, so I doubt I'm 100% correct.... Load up Fallout.esm, make any changes you'd like and then hit File -> Save. A .esp file will be created with your changes. A...

Emil Pagliarulo on the Gauss rifle

I must be imagining that .50 Action Express for my character's Desert Eagle.... So, this technical reason is either "We don't know how to use our own CS" or "Our Xbox360/PS3 version of Fallout 3 is fucked somehow." And if the reason really is leveled lists, then how about Bethsoft develops...

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

PC users have been paying for Bethsoft's downloadable content for over two years.

    My Megaton

Then you aren't doing much thinking, given my examples. Shady Sands and Adytum were self-sufficient communities (just like my Megaton re-imagining) and Modoc could have become self-sufficient based on the PC's actions. Also, I looked over my original post again, and I never found any...

    Moon landing cover up?

I think the flag design is most likely an oversight. As for the design of the lunar lander, it appears to be a design heavily inspired by the Russian LK spacecraft. Something like this but much smaller would have been a better inspiration for an American spacecraft.

    My Megaton

By that logic, the Fallout 1 and 2 don't seem like Fallout games, either. How about Shady Sands, a town that was a "small but self-sufficient farming community" less than 100 years after the war? Or Adytum, that "grew its own food in underground, mushroom-producing hydroponic farms"? And who...

Anyone playing Fallout 3 on a worse rig?

3GHz Hyperthreaded Pentium 4 2GB PC3200 RAM 512MB ATI Radeon 1650 video card (as well as a dedicated sound card) 7200RPM SATA hard drive With a texture setting of High, as well as all draw distances (with the exception of Grass and Specular; I'll explain in a moment) on their highest...

    Anchorage screens and Q&A

An early version really fucked up the Outcasts' PA helmets, but the latest version shouldn't have that issue.

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

Exactly. Fallout: Tactics wasn't called Fallout 3 because it is primarily a tactical game. Fallout 3 shouldn't be called Fallout 3 because it is primarily an action-RPG with strong FPS elements.

    NMA's Fallout 3 Mod Showcase: 14th January 2009

The AER9 is my favorite "vanilla" Fallout 3 weapon, so I'm very happy that addon for the XFO Balance Overhaul doesn't completely replace them. The AEP7s, however, don't look as slick as the Wattz 1000s.

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

Re: Why do so many people here think First Person excludes R I just wanted to make sure everyone saw what you were trying to do. Think of it as a public service to the good people of NMA. Oh, and do you have those numbers Per asked for yet? Hmm, I think you're on to something here. Maybe...

    NMA's Fallout 3 Mod Showcase: 14th January 2009

I love, love, love mods that add classic Fallout weapons into Fallout 3. Now that I've finally figured out how to use the GECK to replace weapon models and textures, I'm certainly going to be turning all those AEP7s into Wattz 1000s!

Why do so many people here think First Person excludes RPG?

Re: Why do so many people here think First Person excludes R Oh, I see what you're doing here. You're conflating the terms "RPG" and "Fallout" so that the factual statement "All Fallout games should have a trimetric perspective" becomes the ridiculous opinion "All RPGs should have a trimetric...

    My Megaton

If this was an idea for a mod, I would have put it in that forum. This is more of a "what could have been" thread.
