Ha ha, I can't disagree with that. The similarities are striking.

Better gameplay overall. I love side quests. STALKER did not really have side quests, and I found exploring was not fun like I found Fallout 3's exploration to be.

I believe that is the pause while Elder Lyons comes up and talks to you. Maybe he isn't there for some buggy reason or he got stuck somewhere. Can you see Elder Lyons?

Thanks for the correction. The black background doesn't contrast well with Firefox's spell checker. So what's your actual feeling about Fallout 3? A mediocre game that was over-hyped and over-marketed?

I'll concede that the immersion of STALKER was better than Fallout 3. The dreary environments really sucked you in. I also thought the story was done better in STALKER. Right it was confusing and muddled at times, you really did feel like you were piecing it together quest by quest. The plot...

It's not like Fallout 1 starts with the Vault Dweller leaving to acquire a water chip or anything, right? :wink:

Really? I found the exploration in STALKER to be kind of tedious, or at least less enjoyable, than in Fallout 3. Maybe because Fallout 3's environment is far more visually appealing than that of STALKER's. The combat of both games is fun.

I'm sure there's some advanced console work that could be done, but short of that, you'll just have to ignore the quest. There's probably a simple console command to remove the quest from your Pip Boy, however.

I actually missed that footlocker. Luckily, I was looking at the article for the Hole on The Vault, read that my equipment was in the footlocker, and went back. I was lucky!

I find the Auto Axe from The Pitt DLC to be an extremely powerful melee weapon. It pretty much killed any Pitt Raider in half a second. If you're doing a melee/unarmed run, what do you about enemies that you can't actually reach? Run past them?

I sided with Amata and didn't kill her Father (I convinced him with a Speech check). I always do my first run-through of games like this as the ultimate good guy, then usually the ultimate bad guy.

The first time I saw those right after leaving the Vault, I got a chill. It was an excellent way of setting the atmosphere for the rest of the game, in my opinion.
