    New Witcher 3 Trailer

From what I have found: TW2 costed ~9,5kk $ and official info on TW3 states that there is a development budget of ~14kk $ and a marketing budget of ~25kk $. I haven't found any info on DA:I, but if that is any comparison Skyrim costed ~92kk $ (dev+marketing). I wouldn't be suprised if DA:I had...

    Bioshock Infinite

For me it is not as good as the first one, but still good and definitely worth playing. I think on average it is better than the second one, but has both more excellent and more annoying elements/moments.

    Bioshock Infinite

Overall, for me: It is a very good game, but with a great deal of potential wasted. It has a great story (and audio design) and very average gameplay/shooting mechanics. The game has a poor start (the first thing you encounter after beginning is some meaningless loot that draws you away from...

    Elite 4?

Hm, I've got very mixed feelings about this. Especially after reading this: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3676757/Re_David_Braben_s_Elite_now_on.html More than 10 years in development and he has nothing to show + financial problems of his company? It doesn't sound good (even...

Actual, turn-based strategy X-Com sequel in the works

Question to those who played it: How is the tactical aspect? Good despite changes (no AP etc) or too dumbed down? Or is it too early to say?

Do you work in the video game industry?

It depends. Designers and concept artists are less affected by crunches but during production you usually don't need many of them so it is harder to get in. But there are also different jobs in this field: 3d, 2d, GUI and level artists, animators, level designers... All of them have their pros...

28 hours or something like that. :P

    Obsidian's Project Eternity

Comparing top-down/iso game to FPP or TPP is pointless - FPP games (like F3/NV) age fastest. TPP (like DA) age almost as fast, because to look good they require highly detailed 3d models (among some other things like better physics, shaders or facial animations). And it is very time consuming...

Hell is not frozen yet! (Diablo 3)

That's why I'm curious how Torchlight 2 will develop. I've played the beta and the game-play was at least as good as in D3 (felt more like improved D2, rather than something completely new. But that's not surprising) and I haven't noticed any major issues - unlike D3's.

    Mechwarrior Online

Oh, this looks interesting. I wonder how they will deal with mech/gameplay balance - in MW games I've played there were mechs that were clearly superior than others. The possible issue here is that despite variety of mechs, only a few will be used by players.

upgrading my pc - is my psu up for it?

As far as I know 7850 supports 3.0, but doesn't require it. And the difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is (for a current generation of cards) almost non-existent. Here is a benchmark for 7970 comparing those two PCI slots...

    What game was this?

Ugh, that's... Ugh! :D One of my favourite game titles (literally). Comes just behind "Z".

Actual, turn-based strategy X-Com sequel in the works

The difference here is that new JA allows to make complex/sophisticated tactical moves. Yes, it is different than original, and yes, the game could be better, more polished (especially the inventory/UI and non-existent IMP) etc. But it's tactical backbone (the Plan&Go system) is very good and...

    Assassins Creed III set in...

I was looking forward to an ancient Egypt ~4000 BC :( AD settings are so overused :P

    Bioware Backlash

Are you aware that not all games are shooters/slashers/combat games? And not all gamers are looking for combat in games? FFS, you are on a Fallout fansite, a game that could be played more than fine without combat and with talking only.

Chris Avellone thinking about Kickstarter and Isometric RPGs

Well, cyberpunk is as general term as post-apo. Both "Waterworld" and "I Am Legend" can be considered post-apo and I wouldn't say "Oh, no... Another post-apo movie?" after watching 3 sequels of any of them (not that I am eager to). Same with cyberpunk - last game that I've seen that was...

    8th generation of consoles

Maybe if there will be more spare resources on board, the AI in games will be better ('cause it didn't really change past last 10 years)... Meh, that's probably just a wishful thinking. They will just throw more eye candies in.

Chris Avellone thinking about Kickstarter and Isometric RPGs

Hm, turn-based Blade Runner type cRPG sounds interesting. Very.
