    JE Sawyer Formsprings #9

Well, that's kinda harsh, isn't it? When a sentence starts with "no offense, but..." you know it's going to be offensive. It's like a spoiler tag for conversation. :)

Fallout: New Vegas Canard PC first impressions

Yes it does: we've all been burned by professional "reviewers" and form our own opinions. Well, not all of us. Many of us still need professionals to tell us what to like. Apparently. ALSO, got the game via steam yesterday. Strange FPS slowdowns triggered by conversations, that go away...

Fallout: New Vegas Canard PC first impressions

Well, you've played every other kind of character, right? If you haven't done a speed run, then you've missed one of the many different ways to play the game, right? :) I've played F1 so many times I can almost sing along with all of the conversation trees--it's as if Rocky Horror Picture...

Fallout: New Vegas Launch Day Reviews #3

THIS is a criticism of a Fallout game? Having the story change based on what kind of character you play? I LOLed when I read it, and I LOL again when i reread it. I may print this out and pin it to the wall next to my computer.

Fallout: New Vegas Canard PC first impressions

Carrying a load of drugs to pass as a dealer works? OK, that's it. I am buying this game. :D

Fallout: New Vegas Gamer's Guide to Life Q&A

This is the second time I've heard this mentioned. It seems unintuitive that you can boost skills temporarily by reading. So, magazines are like a drug? Can you also go into withdrawal or become addicted? Yes, it's funny to think of it as an analogy but in practice it just seems kind of dumb...

    Couple Fallout: New Vegas previews

The FPS gamer in me doesn't really know whether it cares (and doesn't use the ironsights feature in most games anyway), while the internal RPG gamer is being VERY sarcastic about how "oh good we won't have to deal with that role playing crap any more" to the point where I may have to sedate him.

    Contest, previews and screenshots

The Legionnaires... their skirts are ragged and torn, but their boots look new. I honestly though they were girls at first glance. I'd hit that--hey wait! Apparently, Legionnaires shave their legs. I'm just nitpicking really.

    Previews and Ausir interview

While we're talking about how people should complain more... I really hope you meant to say "stigma." If wikipedia starts spontaneously bleeding from my screen, I'm going to totally freak out. LOL, when I think about how many hours I spent patiently killing things in fallout games...

    Previews and Ausir interview

Pretty much anything would be, but good news nevertheless. You snuck in and killed everyone. Well, I suppose that's one way to roleplay a situation.

    J.E. Sawyer interview

:) Thanks for the best laugh I've had all week. Wait... you are being sarcastic, right? So hard to be sure on this topic.

    Fallout: New Vegas interviews

This whole CL thing is clearly going to be interesting. On the one hand, I realize that fallout is a fantasy RPG, and if you take it too seriously you're probably taking *yourself* too seriously and should probably chill out. On the other hand, I take it quite seriously. :) If the CL idea...

    Fallout: New Vegas interviews

Re: Fallout : New Vegas interviews Wild Wasteland... what an obvious and great solution. The thing is, I'm in agreement with everybody on this issue. I think the silly stuff ruins the mood sometimes, but sometimes I'm not feeling very serious and I don't care. It depends... This way, I...

I suppose somewhere there is someone who thought the music was awesome. The mind boggles.

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

Oh, that word gives me an idea. I think these are the same people that, when playing an MMO, grind their way as fast as possible to the level cap, ignoring all of the carefully written content, and *then* complain that the endgame isn't fun. :)

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

The explanation sold me. Remains to be seen whether the execution matches the intention, but I'm pretty optimistic in this area. The only reason going on "after the end" would matter to me is if the game really isn't something I'll want to replay. And that will depend on how long-winded and...

    Eurogamer interviews Todd Howard

What *I* really don't understand is why every developer has to learn first-hand that people don't like level caps. We learned it in the MUD days, and then we learned it in MMOs, and we've learned it in countless RPG type games. So now the nth developer has to learn it... again. I understand...

Why there are no ladders in Bethesda/Gamebryo games

"Hey, the box is there for a reason. I like thinking inside of it. I feel safe in there." --Tucker Honestly, I never noticed the absence of ladders in any of these games. This is what you call a "good design decision" because they don't have to waste any time making it work, and it makes no...

Behind the Scenes: The Many Voices of New Vegas

Well, and that's just it. It seemed more like a "space soap" than anything...you watch for hours waiting for something to happen, hence the NASCAR reference. Edit: Actually, now that I think of it, I sort of think of DS9 as the Fallout 3 of Star Trek. It had the feel of Star Trek, but without...
