    iPhone Physics

It's a watered down physics class. Not a stage for unveiling revolutionary technology. I know the iPhone is touted as being revolutionary but it doesn't really matter how inaccurate those claims are. The iPhone (like most techno-bobbles) still has enough technology in it to demonstration even...

Let's see you save a life, Mr. Smartypants.

Too bad a cup of rice is something like 7000+ grains. They should raise the reward to at least 25 grains per correct answer because it just takes way too long to accumulate a meaningful amount of rice. disregard that. I can't remember where I got that figure from but I think it's wrong.

    Tablets and multitouch

First of all; how do you expect me to fit a CRT into a graphic tablet? Secondly; The LCD I got was a 15" 1600x1200 laptop lcd for $30 (USD) on eBay. It's got better dpi than I've ever seen on a CRT. Thirdly; I'm planning on using this thing mostly for engineering programs. I like to do...

    Time for a NEW TV

The sight says the response time is 8ms (125Hz), but lists the vertical frequency as 50Hz. I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the controller. I wouldn't be too worried though, I don't think the human eye can detect much difference between 50 and 60Hz.

    Tablets and multitouch

If you have a wide screen then get the wide tablet, otherwise there's no point (although I've heard of special drivers that let you map extra controls to the unused surface). On a separate note I've received the lcd screen I'm going to put into my tablet, but it's a laptop lcd so I have to...

    My Fallout Wallpaper!

Much better. Still a bit minimalist for my taste but I guess it gets the job done.

    Tablets and multitouch

I haven't read about any problems w/ pen tilt or lag on the bongofish forums (although the DIY multi-touch stuff i've seen has terrible lag). The big problem they seem to have is electrical interference. Some of the projects suffer from the pen "jittering" and "clicking" (which i think means the...

    My Fallout Wallpaper!

I think it's bland. Other than that bright-yellow distracting text it's a little boring. Check out some of stuff in this thread for a nice fallouty desktop. [edit] Wow quietfanatic, you beat me to the "submit" button :D except your link is broken.

    Tablets and multitouch

You know, there's a little community devoted to building inexpensive, home-made Cintiqs. Some of the projects can get pretty technical but you might want to check it out. I'm planning on building one of my own in the coming weeks. I'll post a link to my build log when I finish.

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!

Wow Wooz, that's really amazing! You do good work. The only gripe I have (and it's minor) is with that exhaust pipe with all the tubes connected to it. Seems sort-of akward to have something simple like that be a crouded hub for tubes. In your first sketch it looked like it might be closed...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

Sorry guys, I ran into some serious issues with my project. First of all, I should have realized that the perspective I drew the girl in doesn't work with the propaganda poster layout I chose. Observe: Note: I have no idea what to do with her arms. I have her holding a stuffed bunny and an...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

Yeah, I've been on various forums long enough to know that when you solicit people's opinions, the responses you get are usually over-saturated with colorful remarks. I've read plenty of Alec's posts and I know that he's particularly fond of such rhetoric, except he has a way of making it funny...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

I agree, I'd like to shift the discussion away from the size and placement of the eyes and towards other issues. I've been trying to adjust things according to peoples' suggestions, but even if I get the face right, it will look wrong if everything else is akward, and I don't think that fudging...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

Alright, I did a bit of research and found these sites regarding the proportions of children: Site 1 Site 2 Site 3 Here are some helpful diagrams from those sites: Notice that facial proportions can be slightly different even at age 12. With that said, I've composed a rough proportion...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

Minor update: I changed the colors to add more contrast. Also, I'm only allowed to use 5 colors (not including the shirt color) for a Threadless submission, so making the darkest color the same color as the maroon Threadless shirt gives me the option of adding a sixth color if I need to...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

A little better? Still no good? I think the nose still needs a little work. And I still have homework that needs a little more procrastination. What a coincidence!

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

I see what you mean about the nose. I'll try to fix that. I'm not trying to excuse your comments. In fact, I appreciate them. I can tell that what I have right now is at best confusing and at worst unappealing. With so little of the girl's face showing, It's hard to discern which way she is...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

I think it's actually just over sized. It's based on this photo: The biggest change I made was replacing that tube with a vent. Anyway, it doesn't fit the girl properly which I kind of like. Gas masks usually have a dehumanizing effect. I didn't want that. By wearing a mask that's too big for...

    Mask Girl T-Shirt

I'm working on a t-shirt design that I hope to submit to Threadless when I'm finished. All I have now is a character who will be the focal point of the design and a few half baked plans for the rest of it. I want this to be perfect so please let me know what you like and especially what you...
