Kid said video game is a waste of time.

It is a personality thing, my girlfriend hates games with a passion so I mostly play when she's not around. Still I was joking about this kid on another forum... it says his interests are martial arts and astro physics, meaning he might grow up to be the first man to kick an aliens ass.

    Total Recall, remake, coming soon...(2010)

I dont know if somebody already said it on the thread (only read a few posts in) but I would love to see all the Philip K Dick stories that have been made into movies be done again, only sticking to his original plot and title (when that was changed). Even something like Minority Report that...

    Feargus Urquhart Interviewed by Gamasutra

Aside from here the game does not get bashed too much. I'm not saying it makes it a great game (I like it) but I dont see why we must assume that everyone out there hates it but is afraid to be the first one to come out and say it.

Favorite books / What are you reading?

I recomend that you jump into SPOOK COUNTRY when you get a chance, it is the second book in that series and I enjoyed it a little bit more.

    Anime

I used to watch those on some public access show, they are really crazy. There is also a live action version which is quite awful but worth watching for a laugh. Personally I dont watch any anime series anymore but I love anything that Satoishi Kon does. He does not really do much in the way...

Sim City Fans! Rally on me!

Love it and have played Sim City on all kinds of platforms. I really tried hard to like societies (I can be stubborn) but there was just nothing there to hook me. This is a shame because I loved how it created an ecosystem of cops and robbers, civilians and civil servants. Maybe somebody has...

    Fallout 3 Point Lookout Previews

Actually let's change to to "I'm sure" to "I hope". It would be nice but I'm sure I wont be able to loot cans of food from a shack without getting an axe to the head from some mutant. And while in "the road" you had random encounters with incredibly twisted individuals (cannibalistic sexual...

Console Arcade fun & the decay of an industry

In my opinion games have not gotten much better or worse but they have most certainly changed, as has music and cinema. When things change way past our tastes, then we lose interest. Some people have flexible tastes and they find it easy to keep up with changing times, others either bow out...

    Fallout 3 Point Lookout Previews

I've been in some leeched out and dead coal towns in West Virginia that felt downright post apocaliptic, or at least on the poor side of third world. You know, drug dealers on every corner and houses with big gaping holes in the wall. It would be interesting to visit places like this after...

RIP David Carradine- Kung Fu and Kill Bill Star- Dead.

Dave, like his dad, was a tallented and prolific actor. Que descanse en paz.

might be getting me a laptop

I would just say get a laptop rather than a desktop replacement.... you can get something light and relatively powerful for cheap and in two years just replace it for a new one or maybe upgrade it, depending on if you can or not. Still as long as you can run simple games and older games...

    Sims 3 is out today

btw Sims 3 is doing a better job of this now, so for example my character will go next door to watch TV and drink some beers, meanwhile my own house will lose all detail until I go back to it. Basically anything that is not central fades out and fades back in when you pay attention. I'll...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Ah yes, that's the game I keep forgetting to look into. I'll send myself an e-mail to remind myself to check it out when I'm not at work.

Drag me to hell is incredibly fun.

Have you seen Gozu yet? He makes his Lynch fandom very evident in that movie, it is very much a japanese lost highway. I have to warn you it is not his most entertaining film (it crawls at times) but it is very nicely surreal and a little bit funny. Loved Inland Empire too but something...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I tried going back to it recently... got further than ever before but man what a mean game. I would love to see this remade, even if it just the same game in 3d.

Then we would be able to close a dozen mod request threads.

Favorite books / What are you reading?

I'm reading Apocalypse in Retrospect by Kurt Vonnegut, basically a collection of essay, short stories and speeches collected after his death. They are almost all about war, and in particular his POW stint in Dresden... great book all around, really pushes pacifism and at one point does a great...

    Chris Avellone Q&A

That would not surprise me, in hindsight the game has a lot in common with VTM: Bloodlines in being a FPS with dialog trees, XP, stylized hacking and lockpicking and all that. Now while I'm a huge fallout 3 defender I feel that bloodlines did a lot of these things better (despite the bugs) but a...

New Fallout 3 Expansion Preview at IGN

Prey? I'm not to excited about aliens, heck, I made several characters and never even found the crashed ship. The swamp stuff appeals to me so long as they keep it sci-fi and not go into outright supernatural territory.

Drag me to hell is incredibly fun.

Here are some recent horror movies I loved: Audition: slow, artsy and incredibly brutal in the end. Basically it starts as an odd romance movie and ends on the floor covered in blood. The Signal: nasty and fun, the movie has one plot but it is divided into 3 chapters by different...
