Bethesda Softworks Announces Creation Kit and DLC

Finally! I was sure they'd release a CS, just didn't know when :P Great news :)

    Gripes about the writing

People who are interested in FPS games will obviously regard FPS games as being the best, no? Just like you regard <insert> as being the best, he will regard Halo (his favourite FPS game) as the best. What's wrong with that?

    A genuine, worthy sequel

It's still a review, just not a well-thought out review. And a game gets 10/10 if someone really really likes it. I'd give FO1 10/10, and no one's going to change this. Doesn't mean I'm wrong, it means I absolutely love this game, and even though it's got its downsides, it's just so good (for me).

    Gripes about the writing

'We' as in you and some others :P Ps:T's dialogue was very indepth, but I wouldn't want that for fallout. Also, Fallout 1 and 2's dialogue was no where as deep as Ps:T's dialogue, I can't see why you's suddenly want it for fallout 3.

    A genuine, worthy sequel

Not really, an opinion is just someone's views about a particular game. He doesn't have to list down the negative aspects of something for it to be an opinion. Of course I'd rather read an article which lists down the pros and cons rather than just one of the aforementioned. And we refer to...

    Gripes about the writing

I didn't say Ps:T dialogue was bad, quite the contrary actually! I just wouldn't want that for fallout, it certainly wouldn't fit with the theme. I mean you wouldn't expect these post apocalyptic people speaking like they're all shakespears :P

    A genuine, worthy sequel

On your last point, I classify FO3 as an action RPG. I didn't think leaving the word "action" out would make such as a difference. aRPG, cRPG, dungeon crawlers, rogue like etc are all subgenres of RPGs, so I thought saying just "RPG" without including "action" would be ok. For next time...

    A genuine, worthy sequel

I guess there's nothing else to say than "you're right Mikael". So  Do you not like extra options just for fun, without having any big ties with the main quest? You know, something just being there as extra content? The stuff found in locked computers was interesting to read...

Fallout 3 Collectors Edition / Survival Edition

I got the CE too. The boblehead stands on my desk, and the lunchbox is also on my desk. What i really liked was the artbook.

    Favourite Armor

The enclave mark II armor, modded though. And the clothes stained with blood spurts. And last but not least, the vault suit given to you by the overseer's daughter. Makes me look like an overseer.

Do you mean the number of choices and consequences in the game? And give me an example the 'more complex structure' please, I haven't read any of Van Buuren's docs. I just watched the trailer and that's it. Having a good lockpick skill can open areas in the game where you can't venture...

    A genuine, worthy sequel

Yes it does. Some NPCs don't join you too if you're evil, and I'm not sure about this but I think some quests are closed off. EDIT: Critter I'll reply later on today, I'm off for now.

Playing a bastard murderer does have an impact on gameplay. Taking into consideration I'm not proficient in lockpicking, speech and science, I miss quite a bit from the game. My stronger aspects, which is combat, I then excel in this area. Also, "playing make believe", as you put it, do you...

    A genuine, worthy sequel

I can play various roles in the game, from a bastard murderer to a sneaky ninja (:P), to a scientist or a raider. I've played as a bastard murder mostly for now, and how is that not a role? Having this build means I can't open any lock in the game, can't read any computer screens, and I don't...

    A genuine, worthy sequel

It's not a fact. That's just your opinion. Yes, we're all entitled to our opinion, but that doesn't mean you can say it's a fact. Well you may think so, but in the end, that's just your opinion, which I don't agree with. I believe it's a good sandbox RPG, imo.

    Pic of the day

    I love the Ghoul mask.

    Gripes about the writing

The skill check dialogue options are out of place, like I had [strength] options when speaking to Moira which had nothing to do with strength. But as for the dialogue itself, it wasn't particularly good or bad. I liked the BoS guys the most since most of them had something interesting to say...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Fallout 3, 25 hours into the game, loving it so far. So far so good. So far.

Fallout 3, Bioshock: Videogames or not?

Of course they're video games. Whatever you may think they are, in the end they're video games. Graphics on display meant to be enjoyed by the user ;) Btw games don't need to be a challenge for them to be 'video games'. The just need to be fun. Not saying that I don't like challenge, I do in...

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

Yeah, your quote was broken and I didn't realise you bolded "to compare to". True, there aren't much recent RPGs we can compare FO3 to. Also, I'll go with classic/old school RPG, rather than 'pure' RPG.
