    NCR in New Vegas

Does anyone else think it's odd that the NCR in New Vegas isn't cut off from California as they were planned to be in Van Buren? Everything from their incredible lack of resources to the utter spirit of demoralization to why they have to tiptoe around House and the Strip would make far more...

    New Vegas: The location

The Strip is just not very good. I really have to question why it's even in the game. Seems to me you could fold it into Freeside without changing the plot at all.

Fallout: New Vegas outsells Fallout 3, PS3 fix released

With a repaired Liberty Prime leading the way because nothing screams Fallout like giant mecha. :P

Fallout: New Vegas Developer Diary #6 - The Characters

He's Charles Foster Kane! :P A lot of this stuff sounds great but I really, really, dislike the inclusion of the Strip into an otherwise interesting setting clearly inspired by Van Buren and the recruiting quest mentioned is a good example why. The entire concept just seems so cheesy and...

Leaked information from Fallout: New Vegas game guide

It's possible this could just be an old abandoned Enclave outpost you can explore for some gear after some deserter (probably Gannon) points you toward it. Like the Sierra Army Depot. I wouldn't mind that.

G4TV Fallout: New Vegas quest walkthrough

Don't know about anyone else but that quest did not impress. :? Probably more to it than shown in the walkthrough though.

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

First sentence was directed at you the rest was more general. I don't get why it would be a "downer" that the game ends since you can do anything you wanted to do after the end before it just by making an save before the endgame.

    New Vegas Definitive Ending Explanation

So make a save before you finish the game. I don't get why people complain about a game ending. You can't run around doing whatever you want if you still have a quest to complete?

PC Gamer welcomes our new Roman overlords... back?

I didn't know that either. I'd guess Denver would've been their first choice then unless the fallback on Van Buren came after their initial choice was rejected. Either way it doesn't absolve Obsidian of the blame for turning New Vegas into an untouched, technologically advanced resort town...

PC Gamer welcomes our new Roman overlords... back?

No way to know for sure until release but the addition of New Vegas into the Van Buren setting is already a bit of a red flag to me. That's more a thematic failing than an issue with the storyline though. I'd imagine Bethesda is responsible for enforcing this idea that each new Fallout game...

PC Gamer welcomes our new Roman overlords... back?

Reviewers pretending to have played Fallout 1 and 2 seems to be happening fairly often. Not quite as bad as that guy who went about praising all the multiple solutions to rescuing Tandi that were mostly made up though.

    Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

Certainly not to the extent I'm seeing in the New Vegas previews. Like I said though I could just be getting the wrong impression without the rest of the game to balance it out.

    Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

Is New Vegas going for campy or am I just overplaying the tranny supermutants and goofy robots?

Will you play Hardcore mode from the get go?

I was kind of hoping stuff like going back to weighted ammo would be incorporated into the normal game mode. Oh well. Hardcore mode sounds fun though. Just hope they're as determined to deliver on the RPG gameplay as they are on the survivalist aspects. :P

    Chris Avellone talks Fallout 3

I like MCA and all but I still don't get what the fuck immersion means in the context of a computer game.

    Mothership Zeta released

I think Skynet in the Sierra Army Depot hinted that it started the war, but since that was such an obviously shoehorned Terminator reference I never really took it seriously. If it was canon though, its quite sad that Bethesda actually made a stupider explanation for the Great War than that.

DLC - What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing! Oh sorry, thought Edwin Starr was taking DLC to task.

    Movie-based Games

AVP 2 rocked, but neither AVP game had anything to do with the movies. Both were released before the first movie came out in fact. Which is probably why they didn't suck.

    I hate "War Never Changes".

It was great in Fallout 1 because the Master's utopian vision boiled down into the same bloody thing as all conflicts in history, one group beating the crap out of others in pursuit of something illusory. To a lesser extent it worked in Fallout 2, because too many people not enough resources...

Confederations Cup: USA 2 x 0 Spain, WTF?

That was a fun game to watch but we mainly won because of Howard's goalkeeping and the Spanish being ridiculously overconfident. Torres and Villa were screwing around teeing up every shot and then there was Ramos' gaffe. On the whole though I'm tired of our national soccer team being...
