Songs that should've been in Fallout 3

Thanks so much Corvin - yays I have more music to listen to! Now I'll have to see this weekend if there's anyway of adding extra music to the radio playlist.

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

Fallout 3 isn't just a spin-off accept it. Don't start building up strawmen of the typical FO3 players. It takes more than an FPS to get me worked up over a game too. Fallout 3 is more than just an FPS. I don't have a problem with people disliking the game. I don't have a problem with...

Cool! Tesla tanks in Fallout! Cross promotion with Red Alert

Care to give some sources on those quotes? Yeah, it's a shame BethSoft are moving the emphasis to console games but I guess it's just a sign of the times - even Valve are console based now.

    Thursday Modding Update

Don't choose a biased name - it just sounds all elitist and smug. Why not just have something simple like Best Of The G.E.C.K or something.

    Fallout 3's commercial success

Well I might try it again on my new machine. It was such a horrible experience with all the bugs and crashes that I just totally forgot about it. The combat was a bit lackluster too.

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

But the community is meant to be dedicated to all Fallout games, and it is irritating that whenever anyone tries to discuss any part of the game the threads just get overwhelmed with "Bethesda sucks lolz!". Just look at my thread about the game music for example, you simply can't discuss the...

Cool! Tesla tanks in Fallout! Cross promotion with Red Alert

Perhaps, that is a worrying conclusion. But I hope Bethesda won't dumb the games down too much - (many of the changes in Oblivion were due to porting it over to consoles). I wouldn't say Morrowind is a dumbed-down Daggerfall, sure lots of mechanics were removed but Daggerfall had some major...

    Impressions thread for negative impressions

Yeah, parts of the main quest like that felt really rushed. It's a shame, hopefully Bethesda will release an expansion or something to pad out the main quest - it's alright up to Raven Rock but then it just feels incredibly rushed.

10 most diappointing games of this year

Fallout 3 wasn't a disappointment at all! It was everything I expected it to be and somehow, paradoxically, more! I think the fact you were surprised it wasn't on this list just shows how disillusioned you are.

Cool! Tesla tanks in Fallout! Cross promotion with Red Alert

Have you played Morrowind GOTY edition? I think it shows quite well that Bethesda are capable of producing a great, open-ended FPS/RPG. For example, you can choose to kill travellers rather than escort them and steal the reward, etc. It's a shame they seem to be going backwards with Oblivion...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #71

Care to cite them saying it's all about gore? I think most of the reviews are professional and do show good and bad sides. And they come to the right conclusion, that Fallout 3 is still a great game despite some flaws. I am very glad I bought it - don't think these reviews are deceiving...

    Impressions thread for negative impressions

I think the Science/Speech char still works quite well in FO3. (There were unavoidable random encounters in FO1&2 too). Really, though Fallout 3 is miles too short in lack of perks, easiness of maxing skills, low level limit, etc.

Cool! Tesla tanks in Fallout! Cross promotion with Red Alert

Yeah parts of the game feel rushed (lack of any vehicles, can build very few weapons, etc.) but I think Bethesda will do a much better job with Fallout 4 when they have more time and have learnt from Fallout 3. I think Bethesda are a great games company really.

    Fallout 3's commercial success

I disagree, I really enjoy all of Bethesda's games and love FPS/RPGs. I'm not the typical 'b00m lolz headshotz' console gamer (I only own a Wii), but I really enjoy stealth/action games and some RPG games and think Bethesda's games provide the great mix of both. (Same with System Shock 2, Deus...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

Exactly. Why can't they just accept Fallout 3 is Fallout 3 and not visit the Fallout 3 subforums if they don't like it. They're worse than Jehovah's witnesses insisting everyone convert to their view of things.

Cool! Tesla tanks in Fallout! Cross promotion with Red Alert

I disagree, a new engine would fix a lot of the annoyances (like the leveling! ) and they may hire more writers. The size of the world (and the fact it isn't seamless) and the limited number of NPCs are a direct results of the engine. I really hope Bethesda decide to make Fallout 4, it could be...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #71

Please explain the difference between a professional review and a personal review. Every review is open to bias and subjective opinions. Different people like different games, why can't you accept that? First, you call the reviewers liars and now assault their professionalism just because you...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

Yeah but the Bethesda hate just spills into every thread (even my thread about the game's music). IMO, the mods need to start taking a harder line with it.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #71

Well it's his opinion so that's all that matters in his review. He doesn't have to justify it to anyone. I happen to agree with him.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #71

Yeah, but the basis of the reviews is subjective so you can't treat it as fact. For example, you can't prove the story is poor or the ending feels rushed, those are personal, subjective opinions not facts. My point is it's a logical fallacy to call reviewers liars since you disagree with them.
