Fuck. Getting more negative feelings. Unfortunately I'll probably still end up enjoying it, since I even enjoyed Oblivion. I just hoped for a hell of a lot more. I guess I had visions of Bloodlines-Fallout 3 dancing through my head instead of Oblivion-Fallout 3, for whatever reason.

Yeah, I was wondering about the VATS thing. I was under the impression that once you burned through your AP you had to switch to real time to get points back. Maybe that's what his 30% amounts to, recharging AP. I dunno. The combat sounds different enough that I'll have to see it in practice...

Hammerdin requires strategy simply because of how difficult the damn hammers are to aim. Not to mention the hell of going through the maggot lair. I realize that isn't really strategy. That's the joke you see.

And Baldur's Gate 1 was something like 6 or 8!

That's what I was getting it. You can see in the interview that he blinks up a storm. IRRITATING CONTACTS, OR A DAMAGED SOUL, WRACKED BY GUILT!?

That's fairly accurate. The whole "Choices and consequences" line doesn't play out a whole lot in Mass Effect, but if you enjoy the combat/enjoy shooters, the options available to you are pretty enjoyable. And the "Bad space cop" or "Good space cop" dialog options work much better than the story...

That would be more along the lines of Mass Effect. Which if Fallout 3 ended up like Mass Effect that wouldn't be entirely terrible. Not as great of an RPG, but a pretty enjoyable shooter. I'd prefer it to be heavier on the RPG, but I could live with it. Then again, it'd be competing with...

Worst part of the interview is that Todd Howard says nucular. The random crap launching gun isn't all that encouraging either, but might work out alright. And then finally where he says "There's probably less of that than people think" for your actions restricting what quests/options you get...

Oh god. Apparently it's actually life-sized, and snaps open, and might actually do more than just be a clock. Well hell, I was thinking it was just a half-sized or smaller digital clock. Full sized clock and possibly radio and/or maybe more? Getting a little more tempting. Not that I'd ever wear...
